As I mentioned in previous posts, no longer can you see how much watched auctions ended for unless you bid nor can you see what closeout auctions in your watch list ended, they simply vanish.

I contacted GD auctions and received this response today:

Thank you for contacting Aftermarket Support. We greatly appreciate your feedback and let me be the first to apologize that these changes have effected your business model. Unfortunately allowing the watch list to remain permanently active on domains was violating the quiet period for our upcoming IPO. Previously the watch list allowed a way for --- to show valuation for the company, by displaying the domains that sold via our system, because of this, the watch featured has been heavily restricted and will likely never return in the same aspect. Again I apologize for the inconvenience and we appreciate your feedback. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

And there you have it.

Then it should be back after the IPO.

But I wouldn't be surprised if that they are over using "quiet period" out of abundance of caution.

What I really think they are doing is trying to keep analyst from lowballing their IPO price lol Or great excuse to get rid of the old email the prior domain ower. We will see if it comes back after IPO

Fat chance, imho. Once it's gone, it's gone forever.

Yeah, he even said so in the email:

the watch featured has been heavily restricted and will likely never return in the same aspect

Unless enough people start voicing their opinions like I tried to.

what would you pay to have access to watch list results?

Nothing. It isn't that important to me, although it would be nice. If I was more active than I am, and had the time to look at the outcome of all my watched domains, I might pay $100/year.

I wouldn't pay anything. It doesn't really matter much to me at this point. It is what it is right now.

Sometimes, I wonder what a name has sold for (if I completely missed/forgot to bid on the auction). However, if I do see some of the bids before the close and it has gone past my max price, I really just don't care. And that has been my attitude for years.

Sometimes knowing less, is good. In the past, I would have some kind of "regret" for missing an auction because I could see what it sold for. Truth is, I don't need that in my life, because it doesn't do me any good. :D

Interesting way of looking at it. I was kind of thinking the same thing...

But the couple of reasons why it's important to me is I'll add domains to my watch list with various levels of interest for each and I'll invest time researching a particular domain more than I will the majority of others.

And if 1 or 2 of a handful of domains that I spent time researching disappears from a watch list of hundreds of domains, I feel like I deserve to know what happened to it since I committed time and energy, not that I have to let it escape my mind as if it never existed and my time was wasted.

Therefore I now have to create my own lists on the side and match them to what's still available in my GD watch list which is more work for me. And the people here who do marketing every day to sell their domains know that time is important. This is what I explained to them about how it makes things an inconvenience for people seriously trying to do business here.

But that's just me.

Plus seeing what is trending on auctions is important to stay informed with what's going on in the industry, I'm surprised a lot more people aren't disappointed about this. Seeing $xxx trends on particular niches are just as important to me as 4 and 5 figure sales.

/end of rant. I'm done ;)

I can see the usefulness for some of us.

Lame reasoning that doesn't even make any sense... I posted about this myself and got a reply they were working on it to figure what was wrong...

So we'll find out what the high price ones sold for because that's always published but not others

Goofballs on the job...
