Hi,
Looking for some insight on registering domains in search engines.
I keep getting notices telling me that I should register them with search engines. Some of them are parked and some are not. I'm not a developer, I'm a creator.
Is there any reason that I should do this for unused domains that only lead to a blank page?
Also, these notices are coming from Domain Alliance. Anyone familiar with this company or their practices?
I realize that this post may sound a bit silly and I have poked around on the web for info myself. Still, I'd like to get input from other people for comparison.

Thanks.

I do not do this...it does not make sense to pay to have a 'blank' page or lander indexed by a third party.

Thanks. I didn't think so either.
What about the company Domain Alliance? Any dealings with them?

No.

As far as your names go and parking, use the search function in the corner as there are a ton of threads here about parking options and companies.

As of now, I use the Epik SSL landers (names don't have to be registered there to use them) for names that get no or little traffic and the others go to Voodoo parking. There are a few other parking companies out there but I like voodoo. Both Epik and Voodoo allow you to enter content that the search engines will eventually find.

Unless you have your own content there is no point.

It's just one of those companies that hits all the newly registered or transferred domain names that advertises get your name listed in the search engines type of spam. It's annoying and unsolicited. I wouldn't trust them with my money if they have to consistently spam me.

Spam. This is not needed since 2002 or so. Search engines find sites by themselves.

Edit: You can however open a Google Webmaster account, add your site and request indexing if you want. This is free, obviously.

Yes absolutelly it is Spam Email. The words are tailored to registrar email about your domain name whois check, that ICANN will make your domain registration freezed if you don't act to give the right data on whois. But some words are changed as it is domain name regisration in search engine.

This kind of Spam emails are force you to pay something you not need to do. Even you want to register your domain url for indexing in Google, Yahoo and Bing, you can do it your self for free. So what they will do if you pay them to register your domain names in search engine? Nothing, it is just a Spam for phising.

Register your website in search engine if you have content is free. But you have to do one by one for each search engine, and it is free. If some one wants to help you register, you must ask in which search engine? For my experience it is only usefull in Google, Yahoo and Bing. It is free and you can do by your self in just 5 minuted.
