UnlcleSam.com just dropped at snapnames

I don't think it is anything special. UncleSam.com on the other hand would be something.

What was it before? Isn't that an army name? Army recruitment? Put links to army, navy etc. sites, have war info, I am surprised the us government doesn't own that one. Possibly mid XXXX I think.

"Uncle Sam is a national personification of the United States, with the first usage of the term dating from the War of 1812 and the first illustration dating from 1852. He is often depicted as a serious elderly man with white hair and a goatee, dressed in clothing that recalles the design elements of the flag of the United Statesโ€”for example, a top hat with red and white stripes and white stars on a blue band, and red and white striped trousers"

That is certainly a sweet name, but I don't think that it would be very useful for anything.

$20K! :o That's a lot.

I'll bet if someone was selling that name no one would have bought it for that much. It's only because it's dropped. I think snapnames makes people crazy. :cy:

Observe.com drops tomorrow, bet that one will be a biggie too.

Speaking of big auctions, movietheaters.com is up at ebay, 39 bids, highest bid $33,100 and 19 hours to go.

Heh, what are the chances that the big guys missed that one? I'm just a one man show here and I have custom scripts I wrote myself running in cron that scan the droplisting services and email me a list of domains that consist of one or more real words the minute they are added. I'm sure some of the big players have even more sophisticated tools.
