- 2045 Projection: Total global Spanish speakers (including learners and second-language speakers) could exceed 750–800 million by 2045
- 520 million people speak Spanish as their mother tongue today, making it the second language in the world by number of native speakers
- Spanish will likely be the second most spoken native language globally, as Hindi's growth may slow relative to Spanish's combined demographic and educational expansion.
-The combined Spanish-speaking global economy (including Spain, Latin America, and U.S. Latinos) will represent one of the top 3 economic blocs in the world by purchasing power
- By 2045, the global Spanish-speaking economy is projected to surpass $20 trillion.
-Right now: The U.S. Latino GDP has reached a historic $4 trillion, ranking as the 5th largest economy in the world if considered independently — growing over twice as fast as the rest of the U.S. between 2015 and 2023.
-2030: The U.S. Latino economy is projected to surpass Japan and Germany by the end of the decade.
-2035: U.S. Latino GDP projected at $6–8 trillion — equivalent to 3rd or 4th largest economy on Earth.
- 2045: U.S. Latino GDP could reasonably approach $10–12 trillion in nominal terms, potentially rivaling or surpassing
Germany's entire national GDP.
-Latinos accounted for 78% of all new U.S. workers between 2020 and 2030
-
U.S. SPANISH SPEAKERS: 138 MILLION BY 2045–2050
- By 2050, 67% of the Hispanic population will be U.S.-born — meaning growth is organic, not just immigration-driven.
- By 2030, an estimated 7.5% of the entire world population will understand Spanish.
