Hi Ayo,

Quick update. We're deploying the following fix today:

Show attachment 117815

The reminder note is only shown when the user clicks on paying with credit card and so doesn't clutter the overall UI.

Kind regards,

Reza

ok ty but are u sure its not good idea to say somewhere that if buyer needs to use amex then they can do so thru paypal?

Hi Alcy, I get where you're coming from but we'd rather like to speak to the buyer ourselves and guide them. Paypal is not available in all regions for example and there are some edge cases which require our attention.

Kind regards,

Reza

here is what I saw done on another market to resolve forever the issue of conflicts and verifications.. in case you are interested:

on top of allowing your current dns (so that we don't have to change all our dns for all names thus far) every member is also assigned a specific account # ... which then goes infront of current dns string.. say say... 1901.dns.undeveloped.com

this is randomly generated for each members account. and they just input it into their new dns string from that day on.

then if there is a conflict your system basically tries to match this number few times a day... say every 6 hours... or 3 hours... and if a match, then it auto verifies.

this should be much faster and easier to iplemnet for you solution than cleaning up old names.

hope this helps

hope u didnt miss this @Undeveloped

@Undeveloped
To clarify is there no evidence of failed checkout issues regarding payments not going through as mentioned above (by multiple people) + the screenshot showing a failed/declined payment?

As a user it can be confusing reading this thread to know what the truth is, so i'm assuming there are no such issues that you are aware of and what's been posted above is factually incorrect, is that indeed the case?

Thanks so much.

Hi Joro,

We monitor conversion across all steps of checkout. We have the data that will inform us best if there are issues or not as conversions would have dropped if that was the case. When there's something broken, it's fixed immediately by our team.

In software development, no software has ever been bug-free. Microsofts DNS was offline for 3 hours last night and Godaddy is giving us hell in the past weeks with all sort of bugs when pushing or delivering domains with them. It happens because people make mistakes.

Lastly, when processing thousands of payments a month, you'll have a couple that won't go as smooth through the funnel as others for various reasons. This is normal practice at any company taking online payments.

Kind regards,

Reza

so for any sale that ends in nonpayment, there is actually way for u to double check if there was payment/checkout attempt? do u do it now or its by request only? i ask because like others i have my share of unpaid sales. ty

Check back the recent post from Laszlo about this subject. We check all failed attempts in Adyen and contact them personally.

@Undeveloped
i wonder about your view on this...
do you think it can affect our sales negatively when buyer sees a very big banner of your company name first thing on top of the page, which he can click on and be taken directly to thousands upon thousands of other people's domains? not some general company info page or something, but direectly to your markets domain searchbar.

I mean isn't the very reason why you have this link/banner there because people go there often enough for you to bother having it there... so this means that it is actually being used by visitors to our sale landers... and if its being used, then doesn't that automatically mean that in many cases it detracts buyers from buying our own sale lander domain?

I was just thinking bout this today and wonder how many of our sales are lost from this banner... if we asked you to remove it completely... you would probably say no.. and you saying no, isn't it enough proof that it is being used a lot by visitors? which can only be bad for individual sellers of that lander.

my aim is not to deprive you of sales or anything.. so I hope you do not take it the wrong way.. its basically just a question... however, my aim is also not to deprive myself of sales :)

I wonder if u can share thoughts on this. ty.

Good morning @alcy

Thank you for submitting this inquiry.

This most definitely is not the case. The company name is presented in the upper left window of your landing page. When you visit your landers it is not presented in such a way that it detracts the attention of a buyer at all. The main focus of the landing page is your domain which therefore is presented more flashy way as opposed to our company name.

If the banner would generate more sales, as it would lead people to our Undeveloped search, we would have imposed a search bar directly on your landing page. As the focus is put on the domain presented on the landing page this is not done and we actually require a visitor to hover over our company name before knowing it redirects to our homepage. However, we do need to provide the option for a visitor to access our marketplace through every page and therefore cannot remove it of course.

Rest assured this link has no significant influence on your sales results at all.

Have a great day!

Just had my first sale with Undeveloped. I was happy with the way the buyer paid quickly and the overall communication. That was swift. I cannot mention the domain actually but I can say it was a nice sale specially since it was a hand-reg of less than a month and the buyer simply wanted the name and was very very professional :)

I just had TWO. Hurts, but not much you can do.

I have had around 15 failed buyers in total, it isn't Undeveloped's fault there are just so many time wasters out there, people who change their mind or they are looking at 2/3 other domains at the same time and decide not to proceed with yours etc. They don't see a contract as legally binding I doubt they even read the contract before bidding, such a waste of time for all concerned.

Undeveloped do a good job and run a good platform, you can't change the world lol

My first sale in domaining was a non-payer. $1,000 offer. I took it instantly... was so happy... but the dude never paid. Whack.

Just have to get used to it. The deals not closed till the money is in your account!

Some features I'd like to see
- Ability to upload a background image PER domain.
- Ability to send messages to people without having to accept, counter, reject offers first.
