Has anyone used undeveloped.com to sell domains? They claim to be able to increase a domainers sales by 54%.

I just noticed a Rental option, with a little "R" in the portfolio listing grid. Its a sortable element too. I set up one of my names "for rent" and set it to the price I'd want to rent it for. I also have a BIN (and lease) set for that domain. When I visit the name it only shows the monthly rental price that I set but not a BIN nor any indication that I'd be willing to sell it and "click here to see the price" anywhere. I'd think that would be good to see as well.

no bin
and no installement
should show all
plz fix

So far what I have observed from the reported sales on NP, only $XXX sales happens via undeveloped. Have not seen any big sale coming from there. Anyone else also feeling the same?

There is no category on @namebio for Undeveloped.com reported sales. Any plans to add that?

But there are Undeveloped.com sales reported on DNJournal, supplied by Undeveloped.com, for example:
http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/domainsales/2018/20180124.htm
Completing the 6-figure trifecta was the $101,500 sale of a ccTLD, Music.ai, by Undeveloped.com. The latter sale was from a list of previously unreported sales from recent months that Undeveloped provided us with this week. Their roster also included #4 BitForex.com at $65,000.

As I recall, I read somewhere on Undeveloped.com that sales are not published - can anyone find that exact text? Because it wasn't clear if that is a policy and whether that means sellers or buyers should not publish sales. When Undeveloped.com publish sales, as above, do they seek consent of buyer and seller?

Undeveloped's Privacy Policy may apply:

General information...

Because we value your privacy, we:
  • process data in compliance with the requirements laid down by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other privacy legislation;
  • do not share of sell your data to any third party

By comparison, as I recall on Sedo all sales by default are public unless you tell them to not publish your sales (there used to be an account wide setting where you could tell them not to publish all sales, I think now you have to contact them to request that, but it may have changed.)

I would love to track undeveloped sales on Nambio if it can be added there.

@Undeveloped found a small bug: After deleting domain description there is still empty "Seller's notes about this domain" section on the landing page, because wysiwyg editor leaves empty paragraph tag - <p></p>. Cheers.

whois shows dns.undeveloped for it already.. so I think it should just show 2015.co in address bar.
is this odd?

Have a look at >Settings and see if this box is ticked:

https://undeveloped.com/users/settings/for_sale

Host your for sales page on Undeveloped.com
Redirect your buyers to your internal marketplace for sales pages

By enabling this feature all traffic on your domains will be forwarded to for sales pages hosted on Undeveloped.com, including live support. When you don't opt-in for this feature, your buyers won't see our live support widget on your for sale pages.

@Undeveloped

suggestion:

any chance you can add a quick link somehwere that shows either one or both: buyers activity levels in terms of purchases... same for seller... in the past few months or say a year.. as well as buyers location country (not just the ip address)... and since when member is on undeveloped?

I am not talking about an entire feedback system thats hard to implemnet. and imo not useful... but what I just said above.. activity level, year joined you, and country.. would be extrmeely helpful for buyer and seller to have a rough idea about buyer status.. and thus payment potential etc..

something along the lines of what sedo does.. I attach foto below.. with explanation for activity levels.. the window on left basically shows up after we click on a single link caled "information on buyer"

what do you think? its such simple few pieces of info placed into one link, that they probably take little time to code..

thanks!!!

Nice with the new rental feature. But as mentioned, there should be an option to buy also.

I wonder what it is a reasonable monthly rent? One percent of the BIN? Or less or more? I guess there is no standard for this.

Also not sure if Undeveloped has a minimum amount. Maybe their administration cannot support sending just a few dollars per month with bank fees and everything.

I am starting to get fed up of no payers and jokers on undeveloped it seems to happen far to often and something else needs to be put in place.

If this carrys on i will move thousands of domains away as i feel we dont get enough info about buyer and lots of people are getting away with not paying and i cant do much with fake email address and number .....

Really annoying >:(

@wizard may I ask for your portfolio size?
I've never recieved any fake order/purchase with around 150 names (sold few this year) but I see many people are complaining about that. Thanks

I have 4,000 on undeveloped and thousands more on other platfroms at the moment but normally adding a few each day with only 150 names you wont notice this...

I can't find the exact post but I am pretty sure that although Undeveloped do not publish sales data they are not opposed to the seller and/or buyer choosing to do so. The Undeveloped sales you see reported on NameBio, DNJournal, and here on NPs come about that way. The situation is the same with Afternic, that are not reported except by buyer and/or seller.

My understanding (I have not personally tried to sell on Sedo, so hopefully this is still correct) is that Sedo normally publish unless the buyer or seller pay an extra fee to keep the transaction private.

u mean u never had a buyer who did not pay? on how many sales roughly? cause 100% pay ratio is almost impossibke...on any market...but i do agree it seems to happen more on undev...vs say sedo or gd

Unfortunately i'm seeing the same thing, had 2 fake buyers in around a week and i'm now at the point where I simply don't believe anymore if payment will go through or not (today agreed a sale, payment not gone through yet, no idea if legit or not). It's getting worse lately, getting beyond a joke now. I'm also talking about people negotiating with me and still refusing to pay when payment is accepted.

Something has to change here or else i'm going to consider my options as well.

but how can this be platforms fault? or why do u think they would pay elsewere? other platforms do not have any special measures in place like charging buyer right away etc..so why should we think it would work better elsewhere? thoughts?

I think a probable solution of addressing buyers not paying and sellers being in control could be to allow sellers to be able to send messages to buyer through chat box until to the point transaction closes. Obviously Undeveloped could still oversee the process but I think it'll enable us to remind buyer through use of chatbox regarding payment and would give us sellers more control.

Does anyone have a feeling for what drives the nonpaying customers? Is it people who are deliberately messing with the system for nefarious purposes, or are most people who intended to buy the domain name but then had second thoughts right after, or possibly people who legitimately want to buy but have problems with a payment method? How to deal with situation depends on which most are.
