Reza, have you ever considered using a font that does not make capital "i" look like lowercase "L"? (And other similar, potentially confusing situations?)

Show attachment 93179

Could this cause a buyer to hesitate, thinking "Am I buying Ldleproductions rather than idleproductions?"

Or am I overthinking this?

Not at all, this is brilliant suggestion!

I 100% agree with you, because I have islefundโ—com
But unfortunately, this is a font that does not have horizontal serifs in the "I" letter

Also can you confirm that after a lead is archived (and buyer never accepted or declined counter offer) - that it can not be accepted weeks/months later by the buyer?

Otherwise - Is there a time limit or way to retract a counter after a certain amount of time?

Hi Michael,

The feature to auto-expire offers & counter-offers goes live this week. It's already built and is now being tested before we ship it into production.

Regarding the read report, the biggest reason for us so far to not do it is the impact on email delivery. We now use a third party to guarantee email delivery and when we add a tracking pixel this can influence the delivery rate negatively as spam filters will pick up the emails sent earlier.

Also, it's our task to always ensure emails are delivered, so our team monitors the delivery rates etc extensively as it impacts the transaction flow on the marketplace.

Kind regards,
Reza

Hi Nat,

They did type idleproductions.com when they land on that for sale page. Regardless, I get your point and it has something to do with the font we use. Changing the font will have an undesired effect but we'll look into using another front from the same family to see if we can replace it without changing our style too much.

Kind regards,
Reza

Quick follow-up. We've found a font that's inspired by the same font family and uses properly readable (capitalized) i's and l's. We're testing the font now on staging and can likely implement it this week after testing & purchasing the rights to use the font.

@Undeveloped ,

May be it was covered before but i just can't read all 34 pages right now.

How exactly "Add new lead" feature works? I add a potential buyer, and what happens then? Do you try to contact him and initiate a deal? Which in many cases would be an undesirable scenario for me, because for example i had a price request and i reply with some BIN with Undeveloped page address and say like "You can buy it here", - but in this case the deal is not closed yet as the buyer would more likely continue bargaining and in this case getting an email from you about how to proceed with the payment with the BIN would be probably a bit insulting for him. Or you don't do anything and the adding is just a signal for your database?

Also, what if the buyer initiate a deal by different email from one he contacted me from? How can you identify that it was really my lead?

Thank you

Hi Golan,

Of course, I'd be more than happy to.

The lead importer feature isn't a lead generator tool. So it's only to be used for leads or transactions that have already formalized.

Bulk-importer.png

So the moment you receive an offer of for example $500 via email, you can import that lead directly to your Undeveloped account and continue negotiating while using our negotiation system.

The buyer will receive an email explaining that you're an Undeveloped seller and that you wish to use our marketplace and negotiation platform. Once they confirm their intent, you can negotiate with them via your Undeveloped account.

Hope this helps,

Reza

Does anyone getting charged with 21% vat on undeveloped commission?
I've sold some domains on Undeveloped and just noticed that I am being charged with 21% vat over undeveloped commission every time I sell a domain. Is this normal?

I don't live in EU.

Transaction ID : 40518
Sale price : $70
Got message :
We just sent the payment of $62.38. This transaction is now closed. Again, congratulations and thank you for using Undeveloped!

Shouldn't it be $63.7 ($70-9%)?

How I can say VAT was added?
9% of $70 = $6.3 + 21% on it = $7.623 = With VAT
So it resulted into 62.38

But it should be $63.7?

Hi Singh,

You don't live in EU but did submit in your account that you're based in Germany causing this issue.

So as an Indian seller it's not normal to pay VAT over the commission and if you handle this with Simon he'll refund you the VAT once you've corrected your billing settings.

Take care,
Reza

That happens everywhere. Unfortunately part of this business.

I have sold several at Undeveloped. Bin and negotiation. Still my favorite landers in the business to this day and don't regret using them.

I've been unable to access their site for a few hours now. The landing pages seem to be down as well.

Quick update: weโ€™re back online. Had a unknown issue with our load balancer. Weโ€™re redirecting traffic to another server until weโ€™ve found out what caused the issue.

Our server monitors didnโ€™t catch up the server issue, which is extremely strange.

Weโ€™re now researching what happened and Iโ€™ll update you all once weโ€™ve found the source.

We have extensive safeguards in place for what happened last night, but the safeguards failed for some reason.

Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

Quick follow-up:

We've identified the core cause now. As you know we're rolling out SSL on all parked domains with us and last night the certificate generator (which is connected to our load balancer since we are not allowed to generate certificates for non-active domains) all of sudden started sputtering and eventually took down the entire load balancer. This is absolutely not normal behavior so we're researching what the core cause has been and fixing it so we can continue completing generating the remaining certificates.

We have extensive safeguards in place for what happened last night, but the safeguards failed for some reason. We're looking into this as we speak and implementing a fix to prevent this situation from happening again.

Again, our sincere apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Quick follow-up update:

The initiator of the issue was our hosting provider AWS (Amazon). They had a problem in their EC2 VPC network which impacted our service and caused the strange issue at our load balancer hosted with them:

https://phd.aws.amazon.com/phd/home#/event-log?Start time=2018-07-18T10:05:45 to 2018-07-19T10:05:45&End time=2018-07-18T10:05:45 to 2018-07-19T10:05:45&Status=Closed / Completed&eventID=arn:aws:health:eu-central-1::event/AWS_EC2_VPC_NETWORK_HEALTH_INTRA_AZ_ISSUE_2018_07_19_00_43_00_3066&eventTab=details&layout=vertical

The issue began at Thu, 19 Jul 2018 00:43:00 GMT (exactly when our load balancer started showing issues).

Screen Shot 2018-07-19 at 10.20.11.png

Likely because Amazon has had their own server issues due to Prime Day, they couldn't fix the issue vigorously for their clients since our servers did go online again after their quick fix but our load balancer didn't.
