Ugh, I'm In Pain Tonight

Just after I got into work tonight, my left kidney area started hurting.. and I mean HURTING. I worked all night like that.. the pain has subsided somewhat but still feels like the entire region is one big throbbing bruise, ugh! Hoping it's just an infection and I can weather it out. I already knew my right kidney is "bad".. haven't had problems with the left til tonight.

Sorry to hear it, Dave. Hopefully it's just a kidney infection which a dose of antibiotics can clear up. Definitely go to the doctor and get checked out, as if it's a kidney infection then they can be very serious. I just had an urinary infection about a month ago. Not much fun.

Taking Pain killers is obviously great for getting rid of the pain but remember it also hides problems.. Get yourself some pro help and advice asap look what dave found wouldn't be as good if dave dont find it :hehe:

try to drink as much cranberry juice as you can...

avoid soda....

try iBuprophen for pain and fever...

but it doesn't sound like something you should self-treat...

My father has Liver problems and gets pains in it. Says about the only way to describe it is a really sharp pain like a really bad tooth ache.

Feeling 90% better today.. the pain meds seem to have knocked it out.. I need to work tonight and tomorrow as I'm one of the few crew who aren't new. If It kicks back up, will go to doc's on the weekend! Thanks, all!

Actually my right kidney is pretty much filled with a staghorn kidney stone.. was supposed to be operated on in 2003 but no insurance. Never experienced any pain in the left until last night really, but seems ok today.

Anytime you experience significant pain in your kidney you should immediately get it checked out. It is an organ like your heart. You need it and shouldn't take any chances with its health. Best of luck to you.
