As you may know, we sold SmartMonday.com last year for $14,488 after a $69 SnapNames buy 90 days earlier. For all the details, go watch the DomainSherpa Profitable Flips show about it: https://www.domainsherpa.com/logan-flatt-smartmonday-flip/. Recently, we sold two more "Smart" .com domain names. Here's the details on them: #1 Sold SmartConveyance.com for $4,375 via Afternic Brokered on May 11, 2018. Hand registered the name for $8.88 on May 22, 2016 at Uniregistry. 49,168% ROI over two years. Of note, we had a $3,888 BIN price at the landing page at Uniregistry Market at that time. At Afternic, we had a $5,000 BIN price to account for Afternic's hefty 20% commission rate. Instead of simply using the $3,888 BIN at Uniregistry, the buyer first offered $3,000 via an Afternic broker. We said no thank you. They increased their offer to $4,000. We calculated that our net proceeds from a $3,888 BIN sale at Uniregistry (10% commission) would roughly be the same net proceeds from a $4,375 brokered sale at Afternic (20% commission) so we made that our minimum acceptable offer at Afternic that left us indifferent as to whether the buyer used Uniregistry or Afternic to complete their purchase. They elected to pay the higher $4,375 price at Afternic via the broker, losing $487 by not buying at Uniregistry Market. Definitely a head scratcher, as the Afternic broker confirmed to us that the buyer knew about the lower price at Uniregistry but still wanted to buy through Afternic. #2 Sold SmartInfrastructure.com for $11,188 via Afternic BIN on June 11, 2018. Paid $681 for it on September 12, 2016 at GoDaddy. 1,543% ROI in less than 2 years. Not much to say on this one. No offers, no negotiations. They just paid the BIN price that was displayed. Meanwhile, we've got 80 more "Smart" .com names in our portfolio.
