I believe the hyphen does not go well with any domain name. I wouldn't say there is much value to tidal-barrage, but maybe some mid $xx to wasted-energy if a decent site is developed showing how to save energy (and money!) in your house.

I like Wasted-Energy.com.

Everyone is being fed a new Eco-friendly type of lifestyle now. I would contact some of the big energy players and see if they are interested in taking this for a couple of thousand. They are all pushing eco information out with bills and they may want an extra website if they haven't already got one.

The other name... I would get a refund if I was you.
