Hello all,

I'm brand new to this whole domainer thing and I think I got a little to ambitious....

I bought the following domains today after doing some research, but the more I read I think I might have wasted my money. Can anybody please give me an appraisal for them?

cityinjurylawyer.com

and...

huntingtonca.com

I bought both of them because the search count looked pretty high especially on the huntingtonca.com. It shows a global monthly search of 800,000. Anyway please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks ahead of time :)

Aaron J.

I'm not too fond of either of these names. Not to bad, but you might have to do some digging on these 2 to get any decent sale. Just my opinion.

When you look at the the average monthly searches you have to switch from 'broad' to 'exact' to get the meaningful results.

Exact searches for Huntington CA shows 1,300 and the other shows 210

CPC for both is also minimal.

If you don't want to keep these domains you can look into a 'grace delete' as they are still fresh regs. I'm not sure what NameCheap's policies are.

If you keep them and make some good minisites with adsense you may do alright. If you leave them parked, most likely they will turn to dust.

As they are they aren't worth much to other 'domainers'

If you search city injury lawyer in google you'll see a lot of paid results. You will also find a lot of law firms with worse domain names. Those will be your best chances of finding an end user.

Wow...

Thanks for the fast response guys!!

I appreciate the feedback... In your guys experience is it better to purchase domains with the intent to sell to end users or other domainers?

Always buy with the intent to sell to endusers. Endusers will by far pay the most money and will give you the highest return on your investment, however they are obviously harder to find and convince. Generally, domainers buy domains from other domainers with the intent to sell to endusers.

If I were you, I wouldn't spend any more money on buying domains for the time being. Spend half your domaining time reading, researching and learning and the other half developing the domains you have as minisites. Check out Noomle for developing the domains you have.

It's a site with an easy to learn platform that allows you to add content to your domains instead of just parking them. It's easy to learn even with minimal experience. It'll give you something to work on while learning more about domaining. I figure being productive and making progress with the domains you already have should keep you away from a newbie spending spree that has got many before you. What is it they say about idle hands? I think there's a metaphor that fits somewhere.

noomle.com is the site

Other than that, lot's of reading in the forums. It'll help big time.
