So i have really been thinking hard about buying a select few .tv and have been wondering something.

Do .tv domains rank well in the SERPs compared to .com, .net, .org, and .info?

The reason i ask is because im not looking to use .tv for a hold or resell. I want to buy a couple for SEO purposes and develop a different style of minisite to add to my "super" minisite portfolio. I think these will be a GREAT addition to the portfolio and if everything goes well with them i might even hold a .tv portfolio in the future.

Yes, .TV ranks well in the SE.
I guess how well depends on the competitiveness of the keyword(s) and your ability to optimize the site for search engine.

Type in reem island with or without quotation mark in google or yahoo.
My site is ReemIsland.TV. I haven't updated in a while, but it's in first page and fluctuation between first and 5th position (I guess it'll go up with more updates).

I've tested SEO with a few other .TV sites too.

My experience:

Yahoo - .TV SEO good
Google - .TV not as good

search for "officiants" on Yahoo - officiants.tv #1
search for "officiants" on Google - officiants.tv not on first page

the same tactics we used to get banquetfacilities.com #1 on Google for "banquet facilities", officiants.tv #1 on Yahoo for "officiants", eventcatering.com #1 on Google for "event catering" do not appear to work on Google for high search, competitive keywords on Google.

i have the same experience with local,
google doesnt like .tv while yahoo treats them like .com or .net etc
