.tv .TV growing fast the last 2 weeks!

number of .TV sites indexed by Google

Google has indexed 500.000 .tv websites more, these last 2 weeks:
2007-08-09 -> 19.000.000 .tvs indexed
2007-08-21 -> 19.500.000 .tvs indexed

This is an increase of 2,5% in 2 weeks!

I will update these stats regularly

I guess the 'GoDaddy price cuts' will be playing a major part in the increase of sites.

It is easy to notice on this forum that over the past 2 weeks there has been a whole lot of new members who keep the appraisals section full with new regg's, the price cuts must of been enough to convince a lot of people who were not sure about .tv that it was worth a go for virtually the same fee as .com

I would expect another big increase in a month or 2 when all the new buys over the past few weeks start to get indexed in the search engines.

Its not Gd lowering the price, This is a world wide phenonomame " or how ever u spell it " and the realization to all , that there is no where to go for dotTV's ext. except up. The driving factor is the clear realization that technology / television and the easability of marketing the dottv ext are where this figure stems from !

These numbers don't cover the parked pages,
so this could mean that .tv is really gaining popularity for end-users who develop their own .tv

I can tell you this much, all of my tv names are getting a lot more views/clicks lately. Even some of the off the wall ones like LivingDead.tv are getting hit on.

I've registered 4 since GD dropped the prices -

the latest being

serpents.tv

serpents apart from being English for serpents is also the French word for snakes - so I'm quite pleased

How do you check these stats?,Is it possible to do this using Yahoo aswell and compare the results?.

As i have said previously, i always use Yahoo search as it seems a lot more .TV friendly.
The only way i know how to check for .tv sites is to type .TV into Yahoo search and i get 187,000,000 results and 99% of them are .TV sites
I checked the first 28 pages and there is only 2 non .tv sites (1 of those is wikipedia .tv section)

, where as if i do the same with Google it throws up any old site related to tv and doesn't filter out the non .tv sites.
I checked the first 50 results and found only 4 .TV sites.

This is what i have been looking for!, it does the same as typing in .tv into yahoo does only with far less results.but at least the non .tv sites are filtered out now.

was in club last night some one we did not know said they been to my me.tv site ,recognized us some people in my circles are looking for dot tv sites ,7000 members in that one club alone.i ask them how they found my site,they said from a hollywood.tv video .
