GoDaddyGoDaddy
CityName.TV

Metro Pop above 500K. City Pop Above 100K.

AtlantaGeorgia.TV would work as an alt if the main city was not available.

With respect to resale value, the pecking order is:

(CityName).TV
(CityName)(StateName).TV

So far, very few people have been active above $1,000. We have not pursued any (CityName)(StateName).TV purchases. All our purchases have been (CityName).TV.

I would say, unless the domain name is LosAngelesCA.TV, LosAngelesCalifornia.TV, or NewYorkNY.TV, the resell value is between $500 and $1,200.

Country: Big Tourist Destination, I would think you could get $5K-$20K. Maybe more.

Non-US Geo - Well I tried selling Kitchener (Canada) 500K Canadian CMSA for as low as $350 and no interest. Once again, I think it matters on the city and if that city is a tourist destination. Someone would probably pay mid-high $XX,XXX for Paris.TV, Rome.TV, etc.

In the states LasVegas would have high value due to tourism (and gambling). Double Whammy. Same with the larger, well traveled cities.

With Associated Cities, the tourist destinations cities do very well.

I still think cities trump counties (at this point). That might change.

Nice post, Local. Very informative. Thanks for the info. Too bad about Kitchener.tv maybe it's time will come. I regged KingstonON.tv not for it's resale but to dev into a local tourism vids portal. I couldn't resist because it has the "Kingston on tv" and Kingston, ON .tv double entendre. I liked it so much I got OttawaON.tv, TorontoON.tv and LondonON.tv (dangerously close to Kitchener on the 401) that of course led to USon.tv even though it's not an Ontario reference, it's either "U.S. on tv" (which I'm using to test the new tools) or "us on tv". I'm so easily amused.

Considering we have:

Poconos.TV
NewportBeach.TV
SaratogaSprings.TV
Rehoboth.TV
OceanCityMD.TV
VirginiaBeach.TV
Corolla.TV
KittyHawk.TV
WrightsvilleBeach.TV
MyrtleBeach.TV
PawleysIsland.TV
Kiawah.TV
TybeeIsland.TV
AmeliaIsland.TV
OrmondBeach.TV
Daytona.TV
Kissimmee.TV
FTWaltonBeach.TV
Sarasota.TV

I like any tourist destination. We are going to cross promote them to our 100K+ registered brides who use our wedding planning service each year.

I only own one dot tv domain, a country that is tied for the 5th most visited foreign country by US tourists (48% of all its tourists are from the US, the other 42% being mostly European) and increasing about 8% a year with est. $4 billion spent by tourists last year.

DominicanRepublic.tv

I offered it for sale once here and got a $1 bid which I graciously declined. I like the way you think much, much better. :tu:
