.tv The Geo .TV aftermarket and recent sales

Yes, I'm back for a minute. Lots of back room discussions (most at 2AM EST when I should be in bed) going on about the Geo .TVs. My impression is that the Geo .TV aftermarket window is closed. I think Poodleman swept up the remaining Geos this week. A couple things remain in the lower end, but nothing in the top 150 cities or top 100 MSAs.

Most of the Tier 1 Geos are in the hands of end users or folks want to hold them.

Our final purchases were:

Sarasota.tv (to go with Bradenton.tv)

StLouis.tv
Knoxville.tv
Stockton.tv
Tacoma.tv
DesMoines.tv
Chesapeake.tv (3rd largest city in Virginia)

We are now down to a battle of the dueling GEO .TV networks.

If you worried about not being able to sell it (your domain name) if its tied up doing something, we will move the content you collect to another channel. Why on earth would I feel compelled to pay you this when I can get basically the same thing at Me.tv for $25? Or do it myself for a lot less then what you are asking.

What I was saying dave was that the random "lurker" who popped up out of nowhere to post 5 questions that you had very good answers to seemed a bit like a set up.

You yourself, although you may have been around a long time, are also relatively new to namepros and this section. You never said anything about "free" you only said "partner with".

I was interested so I went and I looked at your stuff. The first thing that hit me was the price, the second was that it looks a lot like every other script out there, and that I could easily just stick with me.tv tools that is free, except for the price of the name itself, and that is rolling out revenue sharing.

So I am skeptical of what you are offering and want to see more information. You as a seller should be able to provide more details rather than a lot of hype. Hype I can get from me.tv

We would like to sponsor. We looked around the other day on how to buy an ad, but couldn't find anything. Maybe we missed it? We truly want to get involved with people and the .tv's they are holding. We will do this for free, if they are qualified. We didn't see a place/forum for this kind of chat, so we are going to start a site that promotes talk about business models and partnerships.

We didn't mean to offend the forum leader, sorry, really. Sorry to anyone else we might have offended by talking about partnerships. We are here like everyone else, to make money with names. What does it take to buy a banner? We could have missed it, there is alot of content/menus here. I guess this site is speculators selling to speculators and nothing more? It would do everyone alot of good if a .tv spanked it out of the park and sold to Google for a billion dollars. It only makes all .tv's (which we own nearly 500) worth more.

Again, sorry Equity... We do come across some names that are good now and again, we will participate in alerting this crowd to those names and nothing else.

Opening a business model for .tv thread

I would do this. Not sure how or the rules. I am always running a hundred miles an hour, trying to get it all done. I would host/moderate a forum here about business models, in a heartbeat. I think we should all share, so we can add a 0 to what our names are worth.

We are talking to Equity78 about placing a banner on in these forums. We have no problem with this, at all. Look for an Impel.TV banner soon.

We would love to share our ideas and recruit others to do the same. Let me find out their rules and what nots about doing this and we will try to get it a thread going. I don't want it to seem like advertising, that's truly not my intent. If there is a successful model, we want to flush it out. I don't believe anyone has the answers yet? If there is one, we would gladly toss ours and adopt this proven model. I would like it if me.tv commented with detail about how they plan to make money.

We have a ton of money invested in these ~500 names as you know and we want to make more than double/triple on them. Preferably, we would like a steady/healthy income from them that we could sell to a larger fish.

One thing I would like to mention. This is the only place I post comments and try to share ideas. Surely there are things we can do more than trading/selling/parking these names amongst each other, to make some real money with them? This crowd is the only crowd I see that really interest me. You can search me and you aren't going to find me running around the Internet hijacking forums, that is not what we are up to. We love namepros and think they have a great service.

Dave, I am sure many people here appreciate and look forward to read your thread and proposal and share some experience with someone who earns a living online.

Equity, just a thought, how can he talk about his model without making it a sales pitch? I think if he wants to partner he is already talking about sales?

Maybe his thread can be in the sales section to make everything clear and that he can get all his information out?
