I've had my eye on a .TV which is registered at Name and expired in early March.

What are the next steps in the delete process and how long until it is dropped?

Thanks.

40 days after expiring date will enter redemption period
redemption period 30 days
after this pending delete period 5 days
and drop

All these assuming will not be renewed or pulled off redemption

Yup. That's the deal. I have a few that I let expire at NAME and prolly will let go unless some renewed interest pops up, but wut Doc says is how it goes.

What if I backorder if now (after it has expired)? Will I be first in line at Name if no one else back orders it?

If it's available to backorder at name.com then you should (or take your chances when it drops of course).
As I understand it, if it doesn't show up as able to backorder then someone else has already backordered it at name.com (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).
I've had a 100% record with backordering .tv names at name.com

Yeah thats right. Tehy close the backorder once its done at name.com unlike namejet that turns it into a bidding war of sorts.

You are correct... There is not much that is not backordered BTW.

Is this the same at any registrar? I followed one at another registrar that took over 11 weeks to drop - about 80 days.
