"Russian regime" guys please use correct words : P u t i n regime.

Russians don't support this war.

Russians prefer to be a part of EU. not like as Iran or North Korea..

That is not our war.

Stunning and brave:

Russian ballerinas, students, citizens using crypto currencies and robots are being cancelled but the world is still buying Russian oil.

Snowflakes with pitch forks.

I hope and believe this is also part of the overall plan. Criticism is cheap, actions count.
Public statements are also cheap and easy.

We are all hypocrites to some extent, actually doing something is what counts.

Every action that puts pressure on the rulers of Russia to back off and out of this tragic war with Ukraine counts. Every "tenth of a penny" counts. There are numerous deaths from both sides already. Ethically and historically even, Ukraine has the right, obligation, and commitment to defend its land and people.
That's what they say about everything. Climate emergency anyone?

Become #depoliticized and everyone can stop embarrassing themselves by being dragged into complete rubbish that's nothing to do with them.

He owes me a keyboard and a computer screen.

I find your exaggerated reaction/response lacking any constructive substance. I mean, you are critical of Noss/Tucows on principle? Or the fact that the letter was published?

There are thousands of similar "small acts" that either go unnoticed or unreported. Feel free to let us know of such acts that according to you fill the void.

Tucows CEO so you should delete this domain : RUBLE.COM - a pure Russian domain - national currency or may be you supporting Russian regime?

Lol.
That's an amazing domain, even if the Ruble is trash.

Central Bank of Russia recently more than doubled interest rate to 20% to counter it. Last I checked, Ruble's value, to the dollar, is at an all-time-low.

Regardless of (if) any side am on, this is ReallyBadIdea. (Sorry, dont hate u)

That's like saying dropping, Russia.com (Wonder who owns that one)

Asking them to forgo millions of dollars of a priceless asset, is priceless.
What if there's a "Digital Ruble" akin to the non-existent "digital dollar" people want, just to be the first to beat China at this (they started already.)
My point is, even then, could see Ruble.com valuable, just as, if not better, than; "DigitalRuble.com" which is another domain for non-existent version of a digital version of a country's currency.

I dont know what the statement Tucows CEO is making, but as a Public company, i would believe their CEO would be careful about what to say... Good news is, he can blame it all on the recent events rocking the market.

It's none of Mr Noss's business what I do or don't do. This isn't Russia.

Maybe you didn't read the article or didn't understand its scope?

Tucows has business/financial partners and inquires what type of "know your customer" policy they have in place. In other words, if money goes to Russian interests, Tucows wants to know about that.

No problem doing business with Russia when they took Crimea. Where is his letter on China or the UAE? Libya? No letters when Obama and Clinton murdered Muammar Gaddafi and plunged north Africa into civil war and slavery ?

It's not Mr Noss's business to know what customers a bank or law firm have. This letter should be, and likely will be ignored. If Mr Noss wants to help, he can donate his time and resources to ADRA or the Red Cross.

The people are not the Government in socialist dictatorships. I understand there are families separated on both sides of the border.

God willing, this will be over soon.

"Ukraine has agreed to peace talks with Russia, per President Zelenskyy's office. They will be held at the Belarusian border near the Pripyat River. The talks could come as soon as today."

That's the Tucows CEO's words, not mine. A regime is a reference to the rulers of a country, most definitely not its people. I sympathize with your frustration, 20 years with Putin is far too many.

Every avalanche begins with a snowflake. It's better to invest in goodwill than to discount every action as an empty gesture. That's my opinion, no keyboards harmed. :xf.grin:

I'll go back to my original post.

Where are the letters demanding accountability for the USA lead coalition that destroyed Libya?

Were there any letters or financial consequences for China using slave labor, occupying Tibet, imprisoning Uyghurs in labor camps?

The only US President in the last 40 years that actually held these countries accountable, didn't attack other countries and concentrated on the USA is despised and a pariah in liberal society.

The letter was as effective as the USA's current leadership.

Mr-X. I am old enough to recall not only the bombing of Serbia by NATO, but also the cold war sentiment of the early 1980s between the two "super powers." I can tell you, through my life's exposure to world politics, that while the goodness of the world is improving, its badness gets worse.
I'am old enough to have voted for Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, voted for Clinton, Voted for GW Bush. I served my country while Carter was President.

I'm not an ideologue, I look at results. I'm not lamenting for 45, just stating facts. Obama divided this nation and paved the path for Trump.

While actually intelligent and experienced leaders competed in the 2016 primary, the media focused on Trump with daily interviews on morning shows, covered his rallies for what seemed like hours at a time.

When Ted Cruz won the Iowa primary, normally a bellwether contest, the cable networks cut from his victory speech to cover a Trump rally.

Trump is boorish, petty and vindictive. He also loves America and used common sense and good leadership to protect and promote our country.

Trump had more success, kept more promises than the previous three presidents combined.

The few assholes shout louder and perform bigger crimes than the majority. Instead of lamenting about 45 and his disastrous politics inside and out of the US, think what's at stake here: the entire world. Incidentally, I learned that the crimes of the past do not justify crimes in the future.

It has been proven Hillary Clinton was behind the Russia collusion charges, the small amount of Durham report made public told us how.

The sad fact is, poor leadership under Obama and Biden empowered and encouraged our enemies, including Russia and Iran.

The letter was an empty, feel good, jump on the band wagon gesture. You don't have to like my opinion or the facts.

p.s. feel free to list the "disastrous" policies in the politics forum.

Russian expatriots are being pressured to publicly renounce Putin, despite having family living in Russia. Now we've come to the part where we punish other people for NOT speaking out against the thing we all hate.
--

Medvedev, currently ranked #1 in the world, hails from Russia. While he lives in Monte Carlo with his wife, Medvedev’s parents and siblings still live in Russia.

Wimbledon, the tennis tournament even the most casual of fans follow, is coming up. With it, the British appear to desire serving up some modern virtue signaling alongside the traditional strawberries and cream. British Minister for Sport Nigel Huddleston has gone on record as stating Russian and Belarusian players simply not appearing under or around their respective country’s flag isn’t good enough. They also had better personally decry Putin, or else.

”We need some potential assurance that they are not supporters of Putin and we are considering what requirements we may need to try and get some assurances along those lines,” he (Huddleston) added.
Um … okay then.

For reasons apparently unfathomable to MP Huddleston, Medvedev has tread carefully with his words since Putin invaded Ukraine.

“I want to promote my sport, promote it in my country for sure also. Right now, the situation is this is the only way we can play so that’s what I’m going to do. I will try to fight on the court and try to win the tournaments and try to beat the other guys,” he said, via Yahoo Sports.
Might this reticence to speak out have something to do with … oh, here’s a wild hair … fears for his family’s safety should he speak out against Putin? An action that has proven more deleterious to a lengthy lifespan than joining a southern rock band?

And my point is that I cover news related to the domain industry. Personally, I didn't see any other domain industry company issue "ten a penny" statements such as this one. So take it for what's it worth, whether it's one penny or a fraction thereof.

A form letter isn't pressure. Neither is the form letter response.

Imagine Tucows would do business only with companies from democratic countries...
Just kidding.
