Trying eBay feeds on a mini-site

What y'all think about doing an eBay feed on a mini-site like this at www.McCoyPottery.info. Just threw this together a couple hours ago as a test.

Any thoughts?

It's a nice touch and could bring you a nice return. I've got the same going on a couple sites. Not as big money earner for me as compared to say amazon.com but a return none the less.

Like your work Hark.

Ebay is perfect for sites like that. I'd put those ads higher - swap with the adsense block or get rid of the adsense altogether (experiment with this, but ebay probably pays better).

Good luck with it!

Good stuff Hark! I'm glad you gave the ebay thing a try!

Another thing that I would do is Link your Pictures to "Like" stuff on ebay (matching your picture). People love to click on pictures! Use the destination tool for it.

I would also remove the Adsense ads and put up a Product Banner there of ebay items.

Many people do not fully understand the eBay affiliate program. Here is one of the BEST things about it. eBay put's a Cookie on the computer of the person that clicks thru your link to ebay! As long as that cookie stays on there computer and they buy stuff on ebay, You Get Paid! Plus it's like 40%.

Trust me folks, this works! My Cj account makes me smile every morning!

Now find some Every Day shoppers at eBay, and you will make some Real Money! The higher the priced products you get people to buy, the more you make!

Do you have t use CJ or can you sign up directly as an ebay affiliate?

eBay uses CJ.com for there affiliate, so you will have to sign up at cj. Then get approved for the ebay program. ebay provides several great tools. http://affiliates.ebay.com/ but you have to put in your CJ PID to create the links.

I think ebay might also use a company called MediaPlex as well.

A very good dollar idea. Seems to blend perfectly, utilizing the revenue streams to the max. I think the AdSense link unit could still be useful, however, you could toy around with the placement of the link unit.

Overall, a very nice site with great potential. I am tempted to use your idea on some of my sites. :)

Thanks for the help...

Also, great work Hark, I should have mentioned that in my earlier post, I was not trying to hijack your thread. I think this is a great idea and I am going to have to try it out on some websites!

You'll need to use CJ, and if you sign up directly from ebay, they'll let you sign up for CJ just the same..

If you have a real estate type of website, the commissions are huge, if someone buys a house through your affiliate link... although its only happened 3 times for me but that's more than I ever made on Adsense last year.. :p

Yeah - thank goodness for compulsive ebayers :)! (It would be even better if all the "spyware" companies didn't scare people into deleting harmless cookies like that from their PC's in order to make their own software look like it's doing something, but that's another rant...)

You get a percentage of the listing fees, not the sale price but it's still good - especially with high ticket items, but also moderate-priced goods with a lot of competition and featured listings. You'll get more buyers from items which are "impulse purchase priced", and even the small amounts add up fast.

When I signed up the approval was instant. No waiting for an approval email.

I had not thought of this. I have several xxxxrealty.us sites just sitting. I got no ideas for unique realty unique content though.

No worry about hijack -- the discussions/ideas/information exchange is most important.

I'll bet it would. Gives me another idea except I need a content writer. I own a great Dodge Rumble Bee name (paying nicely at ND -- the click rate is awsome) which I would love to try.

Very nicely done. I've used ebay auctions in the past for listing types of domains currently selling on eBay, but have not really pushed them since they made their pay structure so convoluted. I haven't updated their links in years, I probably need to review their program.

Elance.com, Scriptlancer.com - you can outsource, or if you have the budget use PLR and spin the PLR content for even more uniqueness.
If your budget is even bigger, get a software that will let you use the drip technique to update your site semi-automatically everyday using your outsourced or PLR content.
There are quite a few ways getting unique content... :p

Awesome thread! I have a few sites I may give this a try on, especially auto-related.

I don't really like CJ, but it's worth another go.
