Hi all,

I am considering turning all my parked domains domains in to mini sites. Do you think there is any chance I can make a full time income doing that? (Buying profitable domains -> generate traffic -> sell it).

What are your thoughts?

Hi fated82,

Have you checked out Noomle.com? They are another feature rich minisite development community with an active and helpful forum.

You can actually build your site or sites as big or as small as you want. You can include Adsense, Yahoo, Amazon, eBay, ClickBank, Commission Junction, and many other affiliate advertisers.

Noomle also includes a mobile template which auto detects if your visitor is using a mobile browser, and includes set up for Adsense Mobile Ads.

The list of features goes on and on, but if you want to see what a Noomle site can look like check out the CafeMotorcycles link in my signature.

Sorry about rambling, but I do think Noomle is awesome!! And, it might save and make you some money!! :)

Best Regards,
Jonathan

hmmm...Yes, I have eBay Affiliate account and DevHub doesn't provide ebay affiliate (ebay is making me some cool cash better than adsense) so I think I will try out Noomle.com...Thanks for the head up

Sure with enough domains and traffic. I should have started using Google sites long ago. I am experimenting with them and I glad I did. Not much traffic yet but rankings are pretty good and my adsense revenue is way up. One of my sites is paying 1.41 a click for the adds. Please visit them! lol

I buy my domains at HOSTNHUB and then re-direct some to Google sites that I built using their interface. The verification and analytics is really smooth to integrate. Also adsense. You need a little knowledge on re-direction in order to do it.

OP: Do not spend a lot of money off the bat, and be willing to endure a painful learning curve that will last several years before you even get into a comfortable groove (then several more years before your Adsense income becomes significant).

You don't necessarily need good domains to make money off Adsense, but they sure as hell help. My advice is to start there.

Go to Domain Name Discussion and find out how to buy good keyword domain names. Do not arbitrarily hand-reg crappy domain names. There are plenty of good domains off droplists that you can get, but this is no walk-in-the-park also and your really better off getting answers in that section.

Once you get good domains then you can start experimenting with development.

I agree building on good keyword domains really makes things easier. I have minimal effort put in to some of mine and quite a few are sitting on the front page of google. When working with non keyword domains or alternate extensions it appears I need to put more work in to get them to rank which is why basically all I develop these days are keyword .com that I wish to hold long term for end users as the good rankings/indexing only help the value of the domain.

Initially I intend to buy sell domains...But I realize that unless there are traffic, it's not possible to sell them for a high profit, no matter how relevant or how good the domain sound. Therefore, now I am concentrating on developing traffic and sell them instead.

Does this sound like a good plan?

That's not true. Some of the best domains get 0 traffic while some domains that get a lot of traffic (like typos) are worth nothing

Stick with exact match keyword domains (where the unabridged term gets search volume) in .com/net/org

then you can start developing

a shitty domain with traffic is still a shitty domain, if all someone wanted was traffic they could buy it, hell any site I start I could throw a footer text link and have 1752 backlinks overnight, buy keyword domains and not only is your foundation stronger to build on but they usually come with a trickle of traffic for free each month, some of the highest domains I have sold have had zero traffic or revenue as the buyer just liked the domain, buy the best domains you can find which may take patience, tdnam, namejet, snapnames, bido, droplists etc... good domains expire everyday, more competition than the old days but I still pick up gems every week.

I guess this technique is quiet good only for those who can afford to buy domains.
Yet I have heard a lot of times specially from other clients I had that setting up adsense is a way to earn from old domains or domains that are ranking quiet well online. Or you could just sell it in a group by posting ad on forums and have people bid on it.
