Trouble upgrading SMF 1.1.3 to 1.1.4

When I try to upgrade it by giving it FTP details I get this error msg. " 530 Login authentication failed ". User name and password is correct. Any ideas ?

some ftp usernames only require username (just a word) others in this format [email protected] also check your password it's case sensitiVe

I checked those and still gives same error .. It has become a real headache..

.. moved the text from Modifications.engilsh.php to Modifications.engish-utf8.php

another one to look at it supports 50 ftp simultaneous logins so you can try another time.

only thing i can squeeze from this forum is by cpanel create a temp folder chmoded 777

I tried to upgrade by the admin panel of the forum.


Well i got it sorted out. I asked someone else to give it a try and he had done it without any problem. Have no idea how it worked for him but not for me but it happened.
