.Travel ??

I watched a commercial on TV last night about .travel
Does anyone have information about these TLD's?
I know you have to be in the tourism industry (I am) but
I'm not having much luck getting information, that I can understand...
anyone have something that is easy to understand?

Have you had a nose around travel.travel yet?

(The Travel Partnership Corp also have info on their site but not as detailed.)

Interesting that the following:

Bed & Breakfast Houses
Bus/Taxi/Limousine Operators
Camp Facility Operators

Are allowed to register .travel names.
These are all easy-to-start types of company. I wonder if I could offer a single tent berth in my garden, call it 'Europe Campsite' and register europe.travel...

Thanks Sid, that isin't one I had checked before...
I actually fall into 2 separate categories there...

Does this mean I can register ANY .travel or only ones
that pertain specifically to my area?
and I have to prove the areas I fall into right?

I think authentication is required- Also from travel.travel:

(Going from memory now, you are Canadian right?)

If you're a Canadian company, please use one of these authentication providers:

* TIAC - Tourism Industry Association of Canada
* HAC - Hotel Association of Canada
* ACTA - Association of Canadian Travel Agencies

Yup, I'm Canadian... good memory :D

The more I look into the .travel, the more
I second guess it...resell would be difficult I think...
and with so many that seem available, makes me
wonder why big companies haven't scooped them yet...
