Transferring Out of eNom

A friend of mine has a domain at eNom and because I don't have an account there, I don't know how things work.

A few days ago my friend received a renewal notice for her domain at eNom and it was sent from a Yahoo.com email address.

She's decided to transfer the domain to another registrar so she requested for the auth code and received the code from the same Yahoo.com address.

I'm completely confused: shouldn't she be receiving eNom emails from [email protected]? Why is she receiving emails from a yahoo address?

Hmmm, that does'nt sound right, did she do the following ?

I just transfered one out from enom - As far as I remember the email came from > info @ enom.com

Log in to the account

Click on the domain you want to transfer - Then click general settings

unlock it and click on Email Auth Code to Registrant link then click save

Once you get the Auth Code in your email just start the transfer from the New registrar.

Thats how I did it anyway ;)

if she's a sub reseller or sub retailer, then she will receive e-mail from the ETP above her.. not from enom directly...
unless she's a real ETP, then she will receive correspondence from eNom directly

Tell her to check, who's above her...

remember namecheap? before they were enom reseller, when you signup and have domain names with them, you received e-mail from them. Not from enom. Because enom ETP makes it possible to run your own domain registration business.

if you signup for reseller account through namepros (http://namepros.com/enomsignup.php)
then you will receive e-mail and support from namepros.. not from enom, if you contact enom, they will tell you to contact namepros instead..
enom doesn't give support to sub reseller / sub retailer..

Makes sense. I'll tell her to check. Thanks so much! :)
