I have a domain on dotster.com (MyDomain.com) and I requested a registrar transfer from Dotster to GoDaddy about 6-7 days ago. Now I know transfers take 5-7 days, but I got an email from MyDomain.com that the transfer will take place on 2/19/06. Nothing happened, it is 2/20/06 and it is still pending transfer.

I tried emailing support team, the only way was through a trouble ticket. After submitting a trouble ticket, I got a MAILER DAEMON UNKNOWN in my mailbox, that their email address doesn't exist.

Then I looked at other ways to contact them, they only had phone. I look at the phone number, it is a (360) area code. Just 1 number, no 1-800 numbers, no 1-866 numbers, no toll free numbers whatsoever.

I'm under the impression that Dotster or MyDomain, is ran by some very sloppy and lazy 1-person team. Everything seems so unprofessional IMO. The transfer request that I put from Dotster, I got an email from a MyDomain.com address. I was confused, until I later realized that one of them is probably a reseller of the other.

Anybody had any positive/negative experiences with them?

I had a similar situation with another registrar about a week ago. Try emailing customer service if you think things aren't going in the right direction. Otherwise, just be patient, the transfer will get through.

go to godaddy and do a whois on the domain...sometimes the transfer is completed and sits at godaddy a day or two.......or 3 before thay put the domain in your account.

Yeah it transferred finally today. 2 days after it was supposed to transfer. Maybe it sat at Godaddy. Although I'm never registering at Dotster again.

If domain's status is TRANSFER-PENDING you might be assured that everything is ok. Losing registrar isn't required to email registrant about the transfer, as per ICANN policies. Some do, however...
