Traffic East - Orlando Thread

I didn't see an "Official" Thread for the upcoming Traffic East auction so I thought I would post so everyone can discuss as the auction nears. It seems that the Master Auction Catalog is now available to download via Moniker's website. I see some nice domains in both the live and silent auctions. I believe the first auction begins on May 20 and the silent runs through the 29th.

Bet of luck to all other sellers and bidders.

It's notable that Moniker chose 28 .cc domains for the auctions. They obviously see the extension as having merit. About the same number of .us domains are listed, and I see a lot more demand (around here) for that tld. I think it speaks to the idea that very good keywords can be had in the .cc extension for a cheap price.

It will be interesting to see if any of the .cc domains actually sell.

Thanks for the breakdown acc. Yandig, I also thought the number of .cc domains was interesting and wonder how many will sell.

LaborLaw.co.uk $10,001 - $25,000
JesusOfNazareth.co.uk $5,001 - $10,000

...are the two .co.uk's and in my humble opinion they are very poor, verging on reg fee. The first is not even UK spelling!

Stuff like that dents the credibility of the auction and to be blunt, is wasting everyones time.

Unfortunately despite being continually advised of crap names in their auctions Moniker persist in including them, so much for the voice of the many.

Some great names in the "live" but will their high reserves put off buyers as usual :?

I would like to see the successes of a year or so ago but unlikely.

Thanks for the breakdown, acc :)

But this is a complete joke and it shows once again that Traffic/Moniker really have an agenda when choosing the names for their auctions :

The two most successful ccTLDs (.de and .co.uk) have a ridiculously low number of names :
.co.uk - 2 (one of which isn't even in British English)
.de - 1

The fastest growing extension (.tv) has only 4 names, despite being more and more successful with endusers and big businesses (as we can see from newly developed sites).

On the other hand, some completely meaningless extensions have a much larger number of names :
.cc - 28
.vc - 9
.sc - 9
.tc - 6
.ms - 4
.nf - 3

This is pathetic really... :td:

You cannot keep blaming Monte. He tries hard, but he is up against "the Committee". Old prejudices die hard!

I would be interested to see a list of bidders/ attendees to this and previous auctions which I am sure is unlikely.

I just get the feeling it is the "same old" at each auction picking up cheap goodies, any idea how the audience/ potential bidders is made up, anything less than 100% domainers and associates, hopefully I am wrong :?

They shortlisted two of my .co.ins but they didn't make the final list.

I did get two .ins in, so am happy.

Wot, you might be correct but then most people are busy developing rather than buying atm... so I'm not expecting too much.

I will make a wild guess and say those that sold will have been scooped up by 2 or three individuals at vlow prices. :imho:

Either that or they lost the key and could not get in to the closed door acution. :hehe:

Seriously though, it would be nice to see some real action, hope so.
