Unstoppable Domains โ€” Expired Auctions

Traffic Down Under ...

I just searched for threads on the Traffic Down Under conference coming up later this month. Found nothing with any substantive discussion. Why is that? I thought there would be some buzz about it here.

It appears there are two different auctions. The "Premier Auction by Aftermarket.com" (Thursday 8:30am) and the "Auction by RickLatona.com" (Thursday 12:30pm). I was thinking of submitting my best generic dot com but not sure which would be the best venue. It appears both are still accepting submissions. Anybody know anything about the differences between the two auctions?

Did they ask you to lower your BIN on submitted names?
I didn't hear anything back nor for a lowering of BIN. I thought I set the reserves very competitively as well.

Well they both are running out of time to promote these auctions. Only a handful have been announced and that was weeks ago.
Man, these guys are slow are they not? They must be terribly unorganized to not be able to move faster. I still have heard nothing.

They will only have five days to promote my domains as it stands now. I think I may just yank them from the submission form, or submit lower quality domains.

My reserves are $50 and I have decent domains. Still, no response from them :(

It's a category killer domain.

It's definitely worth more than $30,000, but I just want to make sure it sells. I want to buy a foreclosure home near me, but I don't want to tap into my cash reserves since I think we are in for a deep recession or maybe even a depression.

However, I sure don't like the way things are looking with this auction. I'd hate to only get $30,000.

As it stands.....it would go to auction with NO promotion.....and that is not cool. But if I don't than I will miss this foreclosure that I want to do a short sale on. It's a five bedroom three bath home with overlooking to two small lakes with no other houses in view. One of the lakes is fifty foot deep since it was made in a mini-valley.....it's unreal. Totally crystal clear water and totally beautiful. It has a lot of old-growth hardwoods also.

IMHO, you should try something more like SEDO. It's not as good but you might fetch a decent sum there. Just an opinion.

I really know little about selling domains as I have only sold a handful ever and never paid attention to those markets.

I do know that on a whole I dislike the way Sedo operates. I also don't want to wait for a buyer to come along as I will not be able to get this foreclosure in time. I don't want to tap my money reserves to do it, which currently is not being added to in any significant degree b/c I am concentrating on paying off my current house really quickly before things get super-bad. :yell:

what's the category killer name?

Well, I got the news yesterday that my domain will be included in the auction "Barring any unforeseen category killing name trumps it". lol. The auction lineup should be announced tomorrow according to my rep from NameIntel. Well, even if I am the only optimistic one I am excited about it.. My first domain in a live auction like this.. wish me luck.. I did agree to start it with no reserve so there is some risk involved here. I can't lose too much though, it is a domain I picked up here for $xx, the high offer to date was $1050. Will disclose the domain later this week, probably not in this thread.

Seabass - Good luck man, I hope this all works out for you. Once the lineup is announced is there anything you are going to do to promote your domain in this auction? I will probably write an article on it and publish it on NameTalent.com, then write an article at DNKitchen.com about it too.

NiceDomains, the interface still says "Under Review" for me......so if they are going to announce the list today they either are slack and never even got around to looking at my domains or are slack and never bothered to update it to "not accepted", or whatever.

In regards to promotion, it would seem that that would be their job, not ours......but go figure. I don't blame you for trying to bring some attention to it though if they are not going to do it.

Anyhow, good luck......I hope it all works out for you.

I put one in with $25K reserve. Highest offer I've had to date was A$25K (when exchange rates were US$.90 to A$1). Trouble is its a com.au and I suspect they might struggle with their own valuation

How can I even see my listings? They are confusing as hell. I had the page (with the domains and numerous "Review" messages) but I can't find it anymore.

Here is the list. I guess some of those are good if you are going into development in Australia, outside those there are about 15 I think are good domains. The rest seem like brandables.

I guess everyone thinks they have good domains but PassYourTime, com and HispanicKids, com, Sello.com, and Stealin,com......c'mon.......I don't know how those can be considered high quality. The three I submitted were all better than those for development or PPC any day of the week. There is no high dollar clicks in any of those domains. I've let domains like Stealin, com drop before in the past b/c I considered them junk......it just goes to show that one man's junk is another man's treasure.

Look at the first one....Exhilarating,com. Most folks would not be able to type that correctly. Also how would you develop it? What product or service would you target? It's a brandable only. Hardly worth even bidding on at that price IMO.

Also, notice how low most of the reserves are. I would never sell Camera,co.uk for $15,000.....man......times must be tough. Coed is the highest one at $50,000.

Oh well....good luck to those that got a domain into the auction. :)

My page disappeared too.....I went to remove the domains from the interface so it would not sit there until the next auction but now I am shown the "Add Domains" page instead. My account it gone it would seem. I sent them an email asking that they remove the domains or give me access to go in and remove the domains.

It appears it is still a new system there are some bugs in it, and they have just not perfected it yet either.

Some very low reserves - guess that's why mine didn't make the cut... ah well.

Amazed at some of those .au's with no reserve. Packing my cheque book for sure...

I'm not happy with this list, not so much that I have none in it but because I only see a few truly high-quality domains in here. Is this a joke?

From a .au perspective I think there are some decent ones - I'm quite happy with the list (despite not having any of mine included).

Not sure with the .com's - normally the TRAFFIC auctions would get better quality than that would they?
