Awesome news!! I have been keeping an eye out for when more info will be released on this great event. It couldn't be better for me as I am in Ipswich, Queensland which is less than a 2 hour drive from the venue so I will most definitely be there.

After getting back from a holiday to NZ a few days ago I am now full time domaining and will greatly enjoy this event and getting to know fellow domainers in person. It will be very interesting to see the agenda once released.

I will be purchasing 2 early bird passes very soon :)

These are the registration fees:

Early Bird Pass (Until 30 April 2008) US$995.00
Discount Pass (Until 31 July 2008) US$1,295.00
Normal Pass (From 1 August 2008) US$1,595.00
Partner Pass US$995.00

If these fees were realistic, and made more accessible to people, I'm sure we'd get a lot more interest in domain names from people outside the industry. You really are catering for the dot com elite, Mike.

^^ Have you seen the prices for TRAFFIC in the U.S??

There is a purpose to the registration fees.

It will draw only serious domainers. If it was fifty bucks every "work from home" person would attend. I think it shows vision from Rick S. to make these requirements.

I respect others have opinions on this, this is just my opinion.

I would have thought melbourne or sydney ??? ...... work from home people probably make up the bulk of the industry

Yeah,

good point. Pretty sure the reason for the high price is the producers of the show want every attendee to super qualified to be there.

Sure it seems to be true more and more are working from their homes. I did it for years before I made any consistant money though and if myself and thousands of others who were just learning the ropes could have paid fifty bucks to get in, the place would be full of non qualified attendees trying to learn the advanced domain techniques. My opinion only.

The show really is for those who excell in this trade.

Just a quick note to let you know that we have confirmed both Dr. Paul Twomey, (President and Chief Executive Officer of ICANN), and Graeme Wood, (Founder and Executive Director of Wotif.com), will be keynote speakers at TRAFFIC Down Under.

Graeme Wood, revolutionized the Australian travel industry when he created the concept for, and co-founded, Wotif.com in 1999. From his simple and innovative idea, Graeme pioneered Wotif.comโ€™s development into a multi-national company that attracts more than 3.2 million visits, and processes over 200,000 accommodation bookings each month.

Fellow keynote, Dr. Paul Twomey, became Chief Executive Officer and President of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in March 2003. Paul's background lends a balance of public/private experience to leading ICANN including numerous leadership positions in commercial enterprises, government, and in chairing ICANN's Government Advisory Committee.

Also, a heads up that tickets are selling fast for the Down Under event, so be sure to secure you spot by registering today. Discount Passes (US $1,295) are available until July 31st, after this date ticket prices will be US$1,995.

Cheers,

Mike

Good stuff, Mike.

Can I ask how much of the content/focus will be towards .au domains? I hope the venue (Australia) has an impact on the theme of the event.

Cheers

Hi Netfleet,

Because the location of the event is the Gold Coast, Australia and a large amount of attendees will be from Australia, we will cover the .au space. At this earlier stage the agenda is still yet to be finalized, however there is a rough outline here.

The good thing about the internet is that geography is not a barrier, so most business model/ideas can be applied regardless of the country.

I would imagine that some sessions will touch on the .au market more so then others. But at this stage, as I said the agenda is not yet finalized.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi guys,

Today we announced that all profits from attendees and event sponsorships will be donated to the Internet Commerce Association (ICA), the non-profit advocate for the domain name industry.

For all those that have not yet signed up, by attending the TRAFFIC Down Under show, you are also supporting the ICA, which is doing an incredible job representing domainers and investors by engaging in a variety of activities including legislative lobbying, regulatory representation, industry public relations, legal test case support, industry publication of statistics and reports, revenue research, and market intelligence.

Not only this, but it is a great opportunity to attend a world class domain conference, rubbing shoulders with prominent domainers and industry leaders, in a unique and exciting environment.

With this announcement, we have decided to extend the Discount Pass offer (US$1295) for a 24 hour period. To show your support for the ICA and guarantee a ticket to this Fabulous event, register now!

Cheers,

Mike

Not at this stage Charley. We should be ready to start accepting submissions in the coming weeks. Once we have a finalized list of domains being auctioned, I will be sure to circulate them.

Cheers,

Mike
