Traffic Down Under ...

I just searched for threads on the Traffic Down Under conference coming up later this month. Found nothing with any substantive discussion. Why is that? I thought there would be some buzz about it here.

It appears there are two different auctions. The "Premier Auction by Aftermarket.com" (Thursday 8:30am) and the "Auction by RickLatona.com" (Thursday 12:30pm). I was thinking of submitting my best generic dot com but not sure which would be the best venue. It appears both are still accepting submissions. Anybody know anything about the differences between the two auctions?

Well I sent it off to Rick Latona. We'll see what happens...

Still would like to hear people's thoughts about these auctions.

Or you can send submissions to Mike @ Fabulous & he'll make sure they get through. However you might be too late... I'm not sure.

I'm looking forward to seeing what .au's are going to be up for auction.

If this is going to be the official Traffic Downunder thread then let me add the following, pulling together from all the other threads about it:

1) Great preview here from DNJournal - http://dnjournal.com/events/2008/traffic-down-under-preview.htm

2) First half of Rick Latona's auctions - http://www.ricklatona.com/2008/10/23/first-half-of-the-traffic-down-under-auction-names-released (note there will be some com.au's :) )

3) You can get day passes here - https://www.conferenceonline.com/in...=7FA18906-00C0-4758-94C6-1C15BF1A9F6E&clear=1

4) Mike @ Fabulous' latest post on the event - http://www.namepros.com/industry-news/528675-traffic-down-under-fast-approaching.html

5) Official site - www.trafficdownunder.com.au (includes agenda & speakers)

Hope that helps. Also discount tickets available through Netfleet. PM for details!

Great links/info ~ thanks!

Looks like Rick Latona's auction will only include the top 100 submitted names ... but apparently there will be an extended online auction as well. I guess you just submit your domains and he/they decide which format to run it in. Still not clear about the Aftermarket Auction and why/why not you would submit to one or the other.

Can I do that after having already submitted to Rick?

Anyone have any updates on this? I submitted several domains but I doubt I'll have any luck.

I got a call from them last week. I believe they are still taking submissions.

They offered to list my domain at NR but also suggested I might want to develop the revenue potential first, which is what I decided to do.

I tried to submit a couple of domains but the interface appears to have some bugs.

Some links don't work and also when I tried to update my reserve price it said it was accepted but it did not update it. I logged out and back in and it still has not been updated. I'm getting less interested by the minute.

If this is not fixed in the next day or so I will just pull the domains......why pay 15% for a shoddy service?

Hi Seabass,
Both auctions seem to have had problems with submissions. Send them to Mike at Fabulous & he'll send them through to both venues for you.
Cheers

Thanks Netfleet for the info.

They sent me an email and said their techies are working on the problem. The said that only the newest submissions had been affected.

I suppose they will have this fixed soon. I'm satisfied with the response.....it was quick too.

no probs Seabass.

Anyone have any idea when the final domains for auction are announced (based on previous TRAFFIC events)? I thought the idea was the auctioneers would announce them early so there's plenty of time to generate some interest before the auction commences.

Rick L released the first half of his on 23rd October. Coming up to 3 weeks later & less than 1 week before the event starts & I'm suprised the others haven't been released.

I submitted one .com domain name to Aftermarket.com via domaintools.. I received an email yesterday telling me that they want me to lower the reserve or make it a no reserve auction and that they are "seriously considering" auctioning off my domain. Well, I decided to gamble a bit and make it a NO RESERVE auction with the hopes they do indeed auction it off.. Anyone else get this email yesterday?

The Aftermarket.com auction was very ordinary at the last Traffic, almost no promotion and a low sales total at the end of the day. Would be going with Rick Latona.

Well they both are running out of time to promote these auctions. Only a handful have been announced and that was weeks ago.

Did they ask you to lower your BIN on submitted names?
