Hello staff,

I was thinking that it would be very useful to add the value of the transactions that we do on our Trader Ratings.

Imagine some scammer just joining NP and doing on purpose a few transactions of just a couple of dollars to gain reputation , then he could scam someone by hundreds of dollars.

I also would feel more confortable in sending by PayPal mid $xxx to someone that has already done such transactions. The other day I sent $400 to someone here by PayPal and luckily he was a good seller but the risk could be minimised if we know the history of each member and which amounts of money this member was dealing with.....one thing is getting rep for $1 , another one is getting it for $1,000 without Escrow.

I`d really appreciate it if you could consider a way to add this to our ratings and possibly making it mandatory in each transaction :)

Thank you

Best regards & Happy New Year :)

Lorenzo

I think its about research, You look into the item by clicking the link provided, Not everyone has all of them linked but most are.

Also try if you're going to send $xxx without Escrow you'd do your research on the member.

I did but not everybody can spend hours looking for someone`s past.

I think this would make it easier.

Plus some deals happen by PM, without any link like my Cairns.mobi

Thanks

I think adding values is a bad idea (no offense). I don't want people to know how much I buy and sell names for. It could possibly change the market values on future sales here at NP and other forums alike.

As sales threads go on, people could track when the names sold and then view feedback to get the pricing. I think it would only be possible to add dollar amounts if all deals were done via PM. We all know that isn't reality, deals happen largely in threads.

Thanks for the suggestion. But regardless of how great a reputation someone has, regardless of their past transactions, it is foolish to buy a high-ticket item from them without escrow. All the research in the world will not protect you. Maybe make you feel more confident, but that's all.

re: value of the transaction?
i don't think all members here will agree some are keeping it secret and confidential esp. the price while some are exposing it.
still be very cautious with doing the transaction on high amount i would take Gene's advise if I were you.

Being a mod and having a good TR here, some people place a high level of trust in me (willing to do high dollar transactions through Paypal or even send me the domains before I pay). I still always recommend that they use Escrow for high dollar transactions. Even if "you know" the other guy will pay, why take the chance?

The only people I ever do even $300+ transactions with through Paypal are people that have repeatedly delivered to me as either a buyer, seller, or who I've had multiple conversations with over time and whose behavior in the Namepros community suggests to me that I should be able to trust them. I still always give them the Escrow option as well and I always graciously offer to split (or pay all) the escrow fee if they'd prefer to use it -- whether I'm the buyer or the seller.

Even if it's just a little peace of mind and added value I can provide, it's worth it.
