.tv Trademark ?

Guys,

I have found a really good $500 premium name, but the *****tv.com is taken by an actual tv station and I want to know whether this is a trademark violation etc if I reg the .tv. How do I go about finding this out ?

Don't shoot at your foot, using the same existing name, even if it is a generic (dictionary) word, for the purpose of providing/selling same service or goods, in the present case and de facto 'tv' is more than risky business even if you try to resell it less than $1500. I know the name you have identified and would advise you not to touch it even from far. ccTld use is not an exception to TM rules.

im starting to believe it is probably more trouble than it is worth.. it would be nice to get a solid answer on it though. their terms and conditions do not state it as a trademark etc Only their parent company name is the trademark.. i still feel it could be a lot of trouble. Shame, its a great name. Is it 4 letters the ones you guys are thinking of ?
