Just the other day, I was brainstorming and found a product just as popular as say... Google Nexus or Apple iPad and the domains that were available were:
buyproductname.com
productnamereviews.com
productnametips.com
productnamehacks.com

Each of these to me seem like they'd be worth something, especially if it's for a product so popular and with over 800,000 exact searches. I was surprised to see them available. Is it because they are possibly trademarked? Would it be stupid to reg them?

I looked this morning and they've just now all been reg'd.

Thanks!

A stupid seller needs a stupid buyer to get the transaction done. It is still considered commerce.

As long as somebody is willing to pay you for it, you can even sell stolen goods. Your primary objective is to make money.

(btw... i didn't say it is morally acceptable, or legal)

Mike Mann doesn't get away with it, he has lost UDRP's. Each domainer has to decide whether or not they want to go down that road. They need to decide why they want to go down that road and understand the consequences that come with regging those names.

Companies have to decide how they want to protect their intellectual property, companies sometimes allow a site that is giving how to info or positive reviews, some don't.

There will always be people who roll the dice, it is usually not a profitable roll, they take their chances and hope they don't crap out.

In the US you can be fined up to $100,000 for having a trademark domain name and registering it in bad faith. If I was you I would stay clear of trademark domain names.

The only thing ill add to this is that I own "AppleUsers.Com"...as alot of folks know there are apple user groups, and they're a huge thing. Apple will actually give you press material if requested to advertise. So long as you dont badmouth Apple, or try to make a profit off of them they have zero issues. Just my .02, every TM holder is different however
