Lately, I have seen a lot of discussions, or appraisal requests on domains, that IMHO are obvious violation of trademark rules. NamePros.com is a domain forum where 98% of us (just a wild estimate) know better. I am not talking about typos, or even names that could "possibly" be a voilation.

I am talking about the XGoogle.com, IYahoo.com, Googlehere.com, MySony.com, etc. (just guessed here too.)

Maybe we need a TIL (trademark infringement leader), who could scan Namepros, and delete any posts that are obvious violations. This way the rest of Namepros members don't waste time explaining, and saying the same things over and over.

Ha, just an idea!!! Any comments??? Be with me, or let em have it!!! :imho:

But typos are TM infringements, too. Like googlr.com

I like your idea.

But there is another side to this situation. Obviously, nobody is aksing the esteemed members to explain same thing over and over again. Obviously there will be new comers and they make mistakes of regging TM names and then ask here. Lol, if they know better, they don't need ask.

Also, typos, it is always a debating field whether some typos are TM infringements or not. What ever, as long as there is no clear cut answer to any question, issues are always debatable.

I would personally consider it as iron hand if all questions that are obvious to something are deleted, let it be TM infringement questions or any simple issues that are very obvious to experienced members.

My 2 cents,
Gamehouse

I have noticed lots of new member have infringing domains but I have noticed a few veterans that do too. I was surprised to get a few PM with people wanting to sell me domains that were obvious infringments. I think people should still be allowed to post whatever domains they want, however, I would urge all DNOA members to pledge they will not have domains that infringe on TM.

What if it is a domain that infgringes on TM but is not looked as a threat to the company. For instance, Google and Adobe seem to not care as long as you intnet is good. There are plenty of photoshop and adsnese and google domains out there that are developed and useful.

Surely you cannot make DNOA members take a vow to purity? What are you guys, nuns?

I agree with you ,too. It was just an idea. I don't think there will ever be a clear cut answer, as you say. Maybe this is how we all learn.

Quite frankly I'm wondering why until now there's no sticky at the top saying
"what's posted here doesn't constitute legal advice".
