TOTALLY FED - UP With GoDaddy's "Wonderful" Changes

Once again, Go Daddy has made changes to its log in page, and I just snapped. I had to hunt all over for the domain management button. I finally found it, but now I'm p'od. My rep agrees with me and says complaints have been coming his way.

Here's an edited version of what I posted:

Please tell the developers to PLEASE bring back the old interface. I'm getting tired of hunting around for my domain management panel after signing in.

It's a HUGE pain having to go through a bunch of product offerings when all I want to do is manage my domains (after signing in).

Everything at Go Daddy is just getting complicated with bloated domain management panels, slow loading times, glitches, and short log-in periods. I get kicked off my account every five minutes.

I spend too much time trying to navigate these new interfaces, which, frankly are designed to get customers to spend more money and not designed to make our user experience any easier.

Go Daddy has gone overboard with overwhelming customers with waaay too much advertising, and I think GD has reached the point of diminishing returns.

Thank you.

I also posted a version of this on Facebook (both my timeline and Go Daddy's).

Had the same problem with one auction a week ago. They told me the seller must transfer the domain, and that the domain can't be transferred by them. I contact the seller, tell him that he must transfer the domain, and he replies "I don't have to transfer the domain, usually Godaddy transfers the domain". The most interesting part is that I had some issues with the payment verification term Godaddy didn't respect, and in 3 messages they tell me the same thing, the seller must transfer the domain.

If this was not an expiring auction, then GoDaddy are correct. The owner has to push the domain.

Guess what, on the 7th day of payment verification and 2 messages from me stating that they must respect the 5 day verification term, they transferred the domain themselves. Seller didn't even know about this.

I slightly disagree with you guys. I don't have any problem seeing Jean claude van damme on the site in fact it brought a smile on my face first time I saw him on GD homepage. Maybe because I have seen him in the movies and I like him and I wish I had muscles like him. But it would make me more happy if they bring danika in bikini or something along those lines.
You guys should realize that people like Jean claude van damme have a huge fan following and GD probably paid him millions for this ad. Ask me why? Becuase GD is targeting novice and non techie customers because non geek customers are huge in numbers. This sort of advertising has always worked for GD and you shouldn't assume that you guys know more than the big brains at Godaddy. Bob parsons is probably paying his management a fortune to come up with such ideas.
There is a reason all sorts of offers pop up and down when you try to register a domain on GD because bessically GD's main target is novice customers and those customers do buy into these offers so I am sure those customers are more profitable for GD as compared to professional domainers such as you guys.
Also I think that most people don't like changes. That's why many of you are complaining about changes in GD design etc. I bet same people will be complaining if tomorrow Namepros gets upgraded to a Xenforo or a differnt VB theme. But after some days you will get used to it again.
I don't work for GD or anything its just my opinion I am just saying that they are probably doing what works for them best. :D

In fact, I like the new design. Simple buttons, nice colors. And everything they change is for earning more money, that's all.

I understand where GoDaddy are going with this, but because basically I'm a minimalist, they will never achieve the 95% further that I'd like them to go. But I do feel the website is slightly better looking than before. If only they wouldn't mess around with the things I used to like :)

I would think we should all be used to this by now.

Oh no, you edited your excellent post! :o

Apologies, my post stating "Caveat Emptor" (which I stole from wot) "Please delete" was referring to my post...because I wrote something about JCVD and domainers, and then edited it all out. Hope it wasn't the reason.

I think your post was good.

Something positive:

I had another IP problem, and my rep fixed it right away.

Stub's suggestion for logging in is a good one -- dcc.godaddy.com takes you directly to domain management.

The interface seems a bit cleaner, although not there yet.

Something negative:

Claude Jean Van Damme?

:p

He will not appeal to the ladies, I'm afraid. He looks a bit creepy in those ads, more like a perv uncle, not a sex symbol.

D-:

Just to be clear: I'm commenting on the way he looks in those ads, not on his character. I don't know him, so I can't address personality traits.

Now auction did not work.

and for warning about expired domain, I think better if only 15 days.
Too long also not good ideas

Now, godaddymobile.com (m.godaddy.com) reports each and every premium listing as unavailable after direct domain search, at least for my "premium" listings. This happened after they added Van Damme to mobile site as well. The same domains are still available at non-mobile site search, as it is supposed to be. Since, according to various surveys, mobile traffic continues to grow, and now accounts for 15-20 percent of all Internet traffic, are we supposed to have 15-20% of premium listing sales LOST, thanks to new "upgrade" at godaddy?

Furthermore, if their mobile version is supposed to serve mobile visitors - godaddy might want to hire another webmasters as validator at w3 org reports exactly "26 Errors, 6 warning(s)" on a single m.godaddy.com website which, while may be well Van Damme - optimized, is not mobile-optimized as it does not follow mobile web rules like dtd xtml mobile 1.2 format or similar techniques

I couldn't even update my nameservers on the new mobile version. It's not like I was doing anything fancy! Sheesh.

By the way, 1000 points to tonyk2000 for coming up with the term "Van Damme - optimized." :D

GD appear to have done away with the bulk whois search? Or is it still around but not listed anymore?

Just curious if anyone uses the GD android app? I've been holding back on updating it on my phone given all the problems people have been having with the changes on the website. Is it "safe" to do so?
