GoDaddy's annoying interface

whenever you want to purchase something, you need to go through all the junk offers of extra interfaces. I am not happy about that but I am used to it already. However now when I tried to change my DNS, it started giving me that stupid offers, is there anyway to bypass that so that I don't have to read and click through?

Someone has to file a lawsuit to accuse godaddy of causing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

LOL! I have a bunch of domains at Godaddy that I bought for cheap on ebay. I find the UI exceedingly irritating. Not because of the other product offers - but just the poor overall design. Yeah yeah, if I used it all the time, I'd know how to do everything and to an extent, this will be true for any new website layout. I swear, a faux programming relative of Bob Parson's must have designed the site.

It's not user-friendly, that's for sure but I bet the upsells account for a lot of their revenue.

Slow Daddy Sucks

Do as I do and transfer away. If only they would spend some cash on their site. All their money goes to recruiting new customers, none is allotted to provide a good service to the customers they have. Make sure you do not change your address or they will hold you hostage for 60 days. Just disgusting.

When you set the name servers to sedoparking or another parking service you get that annoying sales pitch for cashparking. Cross-selling is out of control at slowdaddy :]

psychology (if i spelled it right and I don't feel like looking it up, lol) They make mall's to be big and confusing so people get lost and wander around longer. They design cereal boxes to cause children's eyes to fixate on them and construct the supermakets to try to trick people into buying stuff ect.. ect.. ect..with everything else. Godaddy's interface is no different. It's purposely designed to be confusing, you think they don't know that? You have to train your eyes to only see the "No thanks, continue to checkout button" but watch out, they also have "pre-checked" boxes for multiple year registrations and whatever else. I like to use godaddy alot, I can call 24/7 and never really had any problems but what it is; is what it is! word....

this is out of control. I just wanted to change DNS, and they feed me all the junk. I don't think they have done this for DNS change before.

I used to love Godaddy. I still like it but the interface is really killing it all.

Its slow loading and takes ages to checkout skipping through all offers that are thrown at me.

That was irritating the bejeebers out of me. I kept getting three option boxes and having to click the middle option "set name servers" However, the last time I did it I noticed a "do not show this message again option" It is not obvious and only just caught my eye. Hope that helps.

Sell some mroe

I can see many new users buying the website tonight add ons. Don't forget that Godaddy makes plenty of dollars off the add ons.

Over the years I have just learned to target "No Thanks" and I know the exact prices towards the final cart so if something doesn't add up I usually know they tried tricking me into something. I have managed to get their interface down to probably less than a minute to check out. I love the deals they have but really could care less for the over intrusive sales pitches. Will I stop using them? At the moment probably not but given any certain amount of time if it starts taking me more and more time to check out I will be looking elsewhere.

GoDaddy now got 10x snail speed. To just change DNS records, it took me half an hour.

Since they released that new interface - I just can't stand using Godaddy anymore. Half of the time, my control panel never loads up for me - despite me trying it on IE, Firefox and Chrome, and on 3 different computers - yet their support tell me it must be an issue on my pc !! - Well thats complete BS!!! There support has also told me that they have not heard of any other users having problems with the interface !!

Anyway, I am now starting to use Dynadot for my domains now, and will start transfering them out from Godaddy. At least with Dynadot, you don't need to go through 16283 pages of special offers each time you want to do something !!

My peace and santity are definately worth more than saving $1 each time I reg a name with Godaddy !!

Just my rant for this evening

Alex

I'm used to the upselling by now, I just scroll to the bottom and click onward. Basically, it's a couple more clicks. No big deal, right? Thinking about it, if they didn't offer all of this, our domains with them would probably cost a little more (just a guess).

Some of the icons were having trouble loading in my control panel a couple of days ago. Though I'm not sure if it was my connection, which has been spotty recently.

I don't appreciate how some places try and sneak things into your basket by having pre-ticked boxes, its my basket...get the hell out

GoDiddy reminds me of one of those 99p shops - tacky looking & cluttered

.

Agree with all comments about cluttered interface, and have finally learnt the art of the speedy downward scroll and hitting "No thanks continue to checkout" button. However, I was surprised by the new pop-ups for changing DNS and particularly by the default 5 years registration already pre-selected when registering a new domain. As one of the above posters said, best to have an idea of what your final costs should be before checking out, so you see if you have forgotten to unselect a default upsell.

This is the most annoying 'figure', it costs extra time to update the cart. >:(

GoDaddy's "control panel" is deplorable.... They keep adding worthless javascript to it, and it just makes it heavier and heavier. I hate the new "offers" when you are making DNS server changes, I have had to go back a few times are redo them, because the freaking "offers" showed up and I didn't think to tell it "no thanks"... GoDaddy people, are you listening!?!?!
