I am running into problems maintaining domain names on different websites. For example all my domains reside at GoDaddy and have listed quite a few at SEDO and Afternic. Over time I have registered more domain names. Now I don't know which ones I have listed on SEDO etc and which ones are missing.

I can use WinMerge to find the differences on the text files (godaddy name list vs sedo name list), but its laborious to copy random lines one by one. As I want to get all the names that are not already on SEDO.

Is there way to copy the differences and paste on a text file all at once?

I thought I would ask the pros.

There are many, many, different ways to do this. If you have MS access you can create two tables by importing the separate lists.

Then use an "UPDATE" query to update any records on the GoDaddy list to "x" if they match the Sedo list. What you will be left with is a list of GoDaddy domains that are no on Sedo.

I did something similar recently where I wanted to clear out any dropped/sold domains from my SQL data. So I took the SQL data and compared it against my maintained list of domains. I was left with data that only pertained to actively owned domains.

if you MUST use WinMerge then take your two lists and drop them into excel and sort alphabetically. WinMerge will show you where the are differences in your data and you can sort it out there manually (as you have stated).

If you have hundreds, or thousands, of domains this might not be the best use of your time and I recommend using the first method or something similar that I am sure someone else will recommend.

If you don't have excel use this alphabetizer it will help you sort alphabetically.

Thanks, I would look into access.

I have a fairly simple system. Using a script in excel, I mark duplicate names in red. I can make a single column list of my names and those that I've already listed on marketplaces. The list will then get updated to mark all duplicate names in red which can then be easily removed (iirc, Desktop version of excel also provides a color filter option).

Possibly. I use a script for Google Sheets as I use that primarily due to access availability anywhere I have Internet but yes, it shoud work as a macro or an equivalent vbscript

would you mind sharing the script?

If you cannot write macros formulas etc. You can copy them to excel then sort the columns and quickly check the missing rows.
