To register singular, plural or if possible, both?

I realize this may have been a topic once, twice or more earlier.

If the purpose is to find end users to sell to, which would you choose and why.

Singular is shorter, but only one letter. On the net singular words are usually more though not always. Accessories is one example.

Wouldn´t end users want a plural domain since they have more than one thing, and more than one model of what it is they have in their business.

Most of the times the singular name is taken and the plural free, then ok.
But if you only register the plural name, could it be that the end user takes the singular domain? Maybe that is better so that I can go on to other end users.

Because registering domains cost. Instead of a singular and plural, I can register two different plural.

So, what are your views?!

umm depends on the word you select I generalls like Singuar's more, as they sound more focussed like Forum, Concept, Mail etc.

But if you can and if both are available, its great to reg both.

Are both s + p more worth together, than two different names?

Well i did answer this in another thread earlier so here it is:

I would like to sell the two in sets, but the problem i have seen is that if you offer one it has a certain value, if you offer both singular and plural, one becomes a sidekick and loses value.

People dont appreciate getting both together. The second one is usually asked for at a discounted price, which i would rather avoid. I would think at that time a buyer thinks that he has one good domain, why would he need a similar one at all?

Yes, as a reseller I would think people appreciate the pair, more than taking a single when both are available to buy and they fit the budget.

Which if only one, s or p, do end users appreciate most, if they are offered just one?

1. Do you think it is easier to sell one, and keep the other...
2. ... and then try to sell that one for a little more than for side value at first, to another end user?

In both cases, the other version is found taken by the both which gives the feeling to the respective end users that this is the only and last opportunity.

(( Then I have thought about .net. If there are real good product name domainsd, I mean real good, popular expensive products, and net is available, is it worth registering, worth the efforts to try selling a net or two? ))

i own several singulars, several plurals and several sets. to make a wise decision on which to register, it definitely depends on the name. two things to consider when trying to determine which may be more desirable would be 1) check search engines to see which is more commonly used and 2) think of how a potential end user may utilize, develop and market the name. if it seems more logical to own the plural, go with your gut.

i will agree with an earlier post, if you find a good name or term and have the opportunity (and the finances), register both. you will then have the choice to develop or sell separately or together.

finally, i will say i've had more success selling singulars than plurals. recently sold prequalifiedhomeloan.com at TRAFFIC Miami while no bids for prequalifiedhomeloans.com. good for me still, because if the singular gets developed, my plural increases in value.
