My business partner and I recently bought a key-phrase product domain name which has a one page blog site on it. The site appears on page 3 of Google results for searches on the key-phrase. We didn't ask for the site files as the site isn't much and we intend to build our own. So far the site still appears.
What we would like to do now is to join an affiliate program and simply forward the domain to the affiliate URL until we have our site built, so that we can gauge the traffic and hopefully also be making money, however we don't know if doing so would hurt the SEO standing of the domain.
We are somewhat new to developing websites. Can anyone enlighten us on this and maybe also provide a tip on finding a good company to build the site and do the SEO?
I don't want to state the domain name, for various reasons, but I'm talking about a pretty good domain that we paid about $10K for.
