Buy a .com to forward to a site's page?

HI, thanks in advance for your help with this. Imagine you have the domain apples.com (wouldn't that be nice!). Your site does well, and has sub pages for each type of apple especially the page for "macintiosh apples".

Now the name macintoshapples.com comes up, and you see that this set of keywords has moderate traffic like 4000/month.

Will it benefit you to buy it and forward it to your page on those apples?

Or do you really have to build a brand new site around it to get much benefit?

Forwarding it to your current page will not help you in the search engines. It may get a tiny trickle of type in traffic.

I do not know what are you saying in a threat. What type of techniques you are doing a SEO. There are disadvantages if you are using other brand names in our domain name.

Thanks Traveler, that's what I thought - and unfortunately the .com is not incredibly strong for type-in traffic.
