Hi, everyone!

Just curious if someone can share their experience with buying domains from (BuyDomains.com). Are they willing to negotiate on price if you consider buying a domain from them. Is it possible to buy domains from them and then later resell them for profits?

Thank you,

BuyDomains.com are a true alchemist (they own it in .org and the plural in .net hehe ;) )if I've ever seen one... Turning regfee names into XXXX sales.

As for my answer... You're a whole lot better than most of us if you can buy names off them and resell them here for a profit! As for negotiating with them, I don't think you'll have much luck.

All the best :)

Thank you,

I do negotiate with them and get the name I want. I bought the name www.FairfaxCity.com from them after series of negotiation.
I think I also bought www.ManassasPark.com from them.

Not cheap but acceptable to our budget.

I have other domains still in progress.

Regards,
Em

Yes, you can negotiate. Infact - I would recommend checking the Whois of the domain name your interested in. Make sure its theirs and not a resellers (as I list with Afternic Exchange, which puts my names for sale with BuyDomains).

Now, if it is a BuyDomains domain - they do negotiate. Typically they will come down around 25% of their asking price. Infact - you can just say - take 25% off and I'll do it today and within a few seconds theyll come back and say sold.

Now, if it isnt owned by BuyDomains or a BuyDomains company (RareNames as an example) Then contact the owner directly. Tell them instead of buying through BuyDomains you want to buy from them and ask them to take 35% off of the BuyDomains asking price - and you'll buy.

Good luck!

Justin

Its the same people, BuyDomains Holdings, Inc

I've also noticed that Buydomains names are generally speaking, much much cheaper than they were even just a year ago.

I think BuyDomains is having trouble selling domains at the moment, as I have been getting emails with progressively better prices for a domain I inquired about around 3 months ago.

You would be suprised how much they will take off of a name sometimes, I got a really decent .org from them for $800, and the asking price had been around $1600.00. (I offered $500, they said 8 and I said deal.)

I still get follow-ups from a request over a year ago - I did smell desperation in the water after all ;) That being said, their bread and butter is still parking, no?

when you sell through Buydomains, you can have a floor price that can give your broker some room to negotiate. some sellers give a floor price which can be 25-50% off the asking price, and some don't give any floor price which means the asking price the only price, and in this case the broker will contact the owner only if the offer is close to the asking price.

20k from 400 seems a bit outrageous.

It's because the seller has not updated his prices in a long time, while valuations have continued to rise.

Several months ago I was looking at domains in a certain category on BuyDomains.com. They were all in the $2,000 to $10,000 range, but I noticed one that was just as good as the others and was priced at $388. I bought it immediately, without attempting to negotiate.

Over the next three days a rep from BuyDomains called repeatedly and left messages with my answering service. I was on the road and did not return their calls. I had the feeling they wanted to ask me to cancel the deal. Perhaps the seller had realized that his price was way below market. I never returned their calls and they had no choice but to honor the deal.
