Tip - Why I think "video" is the #1 Dot Mobi Keyword

Look at Video.. the human experience.. of entertainment..

Look at Video.. look at the You Tube phenomenon sociologically..

.. now take that to the mobile phone.. now take that to the greater world.

What do you think?

Better than the rest of any keyword you can think of? Best word to combine with? (It has many more great word combo names {phrases of domains} than that adult one)

I have been collecting "Video" with fervor.. here is a list on "video" I considered.. that were still available last time I checked.. for us/any here to add to the NP monopoly/gang here.. all we have to do is stay in touch here in the future and share/network with this experience to help each and one another get through it best.. bring it on world, with the dot mobis!

I totaly aggree with you worldradio, thats why my first names regged were cam .mobis, and what really drew me to .mobi originaly. These are the best regs that I did for "Live cam names/Streaming video) I don't mean to take away from the video thread, but I think video and cam are similar. And Anything that has to do with live videos/information on demand wil be huge in the future IMHO.

hmm very interesting.. I don't know exactly, perhaps we can all contribute on this one..

(alot of "tv" keywords were also registered fast in dot mobi, and I was able to get some good "television"s.)

Why "video" over "tv"?

1.) From a developer's standpoint:

the problem I see with TV.. is that it is associated with a "live" broadcast production.. whereby you have to keep replenishing content for the viewer..

that could be very costly.. and could would involve some type of contract with the produced material..

Video is content that only needs to be uploaded once.. with an archive, the user chooses what he or she wants to watch at any given moment.. in fact I watched the Prince halftime show on You Tube moments after it happened.. hehe.. it was a video site not a tv site..

Also, for web 2.0 community involvement, others can upload and provide content for free.. from the grassroots, like how hot reality shows are.. RSS video feeds are becoming more and more popular on the PC internet.. just alot more feasible.. now it will be the #1 entertainment experience coming to the new broadband mobile device?

2.) On an internet linguistic level:

Just a quick look at the latest trends, and you can see articles about how the coming out of internet TV has slowed and video is skyrocketing.. for example.. TVGuide recently announced that they will be offering their own "video" partnerships..

I am not saying that "tv" won't be a hot word, whatever the mainstream chooses to call this phenomenon will be the successful keyword.. But, I am hearing more and more "video" everywhere..

Let's not underestimate the power of a nickname on the masses.. TV is a thing that evolved in the mid 1900's and now the next evolution is internet video viewing.. I just think that the "tv" term has more obsolete association in mainstream linggo than video.. a television channel experience denotes 1 stream experience for countless viewers.. the video archive experience denotes countless stream options experiences for each one viewer..
now compute this with the masses.. higher exponential experiences for the latter..

The article above on the upcoming conference talks about the two experiences.. IP television vs. video.. don't get me wrong.. both will be valuable in dot mobi..

You Tube shocked the world, traumatized it in just a year and a half before it sold.. For "TV" as a popular internet word.. it must evolve fast as a notion to relay a two way user experience.. while traditionally television is only one way.. the internet is interactive.. choice for the end user is BIG.. and that precedent has been set by the "video" site YouTube.. eventually, other video sites will emerge.. they can't retain a monopoly on market share.. people will go to a direct niche-video dot mobi site..

3.) From a domainer's perspective drafting..

As domainers, another way to see it is trying out keywords for drafting dot mobis.. surely chinesetelevision.mobi will be hot.. but how many great television names are there compared to keywords that can be combined with "video"..

For example, which has most appeal.. DogTelevision or DogVideo?

..plus the fact that there are two words "television" and "tv".. as opposed to only one - "video".

4.) What is hotter?

What ever becomes hot in the mainstream wins.. and right now "TV/Television" is lagging on the internet.. and "video" is being pumped up from You Tube to mobile phones and their commercials..


They are talking about - not TV as a medium.. but video as an experience.. every domain name can one day become like a production studio (shooting video with our mobile phones?).. now, are we adding "video" to our domain sites or are we adding "television" to the our sites? (for monetization proof, look at what the proven adult industry uses)

These are just some random thoughts I coughed up real quickly heh, it will be both; but, "Video" is my #1 keyword as a dot mobi domainer.. and according to the hottest trends and slang.. it is the most viral.

i do see some valid points, but would add that 'video' and 'tv' many times are considered one in the same. according to google labs, video has always held an edge over 'tv' when it comes to news mentions and searches -

1.2 billion google results for tv

in my mind the difference is in expectations of results, when i think of video, i think of short quick skits (you tube type stuff), when i think tv, i think of full episodes, documentaries and programs (network tv type stuff)

the line between these will probable continue to blur and who knows what we'll be left with ...

How is your "video" hunt?

I finally picked up MathVideo.mobi (*rep self*)

Such ideas are really innovative.. but think how many students worldwide are taught on the blackboard and have a mobile phone for further cliff notes? hehe..

Think "video" ideas like there has been no other precedent in the idea usage in human history for..

Skate where the puck is going to be, not off of where it has been or is now (Overture has its limits)

this symbol can apply to other ideas as well..

Be first, and frontrunner, King of that lake.. for that genre and "video"..

There were search engines in the mid 90's that were first movers; but, then a Google came along in the late 90's and dominated.. so the lesson learned is.. whoever is first now, can be taken down.. but, the best video keyword domain name for that genre can lift you sustainably in the top nix of all to come and to aggresively copy/follow.. in particular, with search engine keyword valuation..

So start those link exchanges asap!
