Ok guys,

I am putting up $100 for whomever predicts the highest sale for a premium name in 2007 and $50 to whomever predicts the highest sale for a non premium for 2007. If the same person predicts both correctly, the prize doubles to $300!!

I will also match this number with a donation to a lung cancer charity on behalf of the .TV forum, to be donated on December 2nd 2007.

All predictions must be placed on this thread before the end of January 07. You may edit your selection once only!!

Only sales recorded in DN Journal count and must be mentioned by December 1st 2007. I think this is a fair cut off point.

I will start the predictions with a top non premium .TV sale of $50,000 and a premium sale of $175,000. :)

Good luck to everybody. 2007 should hopefully be a good year for all of us.

Happy New Year.

Hi Millers, that's not a nice surprise. As nothing is certain yet and medical standards are high these days, I hope you will do well.

Wish you the very best and a healthy 2007!

I would like to take a little time to explain why my numbers are lower than most. I predictive that 2007 will be a year of SHOCK. People will begin to see it more and more as the year progressives. It will be a year for content providers, tools, etc to emerge. A lot will be going on. Domainers who once put .tv down will have to take a look again at the exetention and many will realize it's potential. Bandwidth will increase in 2007 and business plans will begin to change as ad dollars normally reserved for mainstream television as we know it start being displaced. I chose the word displaced purposely. Even though many people today read news on the internet there will always be a percentage who only read the newspaper. The same for commercials on TV versus internet. Since it will be a year of change and development I think there will be many small sales then one or two big ones. 2008 will have the bigger numbers for premium holders. Also, in 2007 I think the nonpremium .tv top sale will be higher than a premium one for two reasons. Firstly, many people will still reject wanting to pay high yearly premiums in 2007. Premium name holders who have bought more than they can develop are more likely to let go at a lower price, while still making a good return to recoup costs and monies needed toward proper development. The nonpremium holder will be a tougher negotiator, imo, and thus make a better sale. After all, the extension is moving upward and there yearly cost is minimal. That being said, the seller of a nonpremium can take the risk of losing a potential buyer. Secondly, investors and end users maybe more likely to pay more upfront to pay less per year in renewal.

All my opinion folks. Good luck to all in 2007.

Oh, and one more extremely important point. There are still thousands and thousands of .tv names out there still that should be premiums but are available for reg fee. This is very important to know. The fact that I was able to find the equivalent to travel tv in Danish for reg fee is something to think about. Denmark is not a huge country but nonetheless you get what my point is.

Hey if I get both right, I can buy 16 channels at reg fee:)
