Time to invest .xyz

After google decision is it worth investing in xyz extension? Will it's value increase?

I never said you are against me or those who like .xzy but let me ask you something... You also see a domain that has all its other extensions taken right? So since you accept such non .com extentions and even many domainers say when they are selling a domain...all other extenaions taken.... Then why dont you see this same thing with .xyz?

Maybe some domains are premium in certain parts of the world or to certain people, but what ia premium to 100% of the people are taken.

I personally only go for .co.uk (.uk) and rarely some .com names for re-sell purposes in all fairness rest are huge risk and you have to study every single one of them different! Just because they are registered doesn't mean they are worth anything.. It's just like somebody looks at .xyz which is picked up and assume that many other extensions will be worth something!

Even those .com names I mentioned earlier, (.com's) you said they don't mean anything, yet every single one of them sold for more than any of public .xyz sales know up to date, if I am not wrong..

, if you visited my domain name portfolio, that's only very small part of my names there, most are kept secret, because I make nice money on them via parking revenues.. It's true, I occasionally pick up some .info, .org, .eu, .net, but only names I have solid ground to believe will bring in some natural traffic, for either forwarding to my sites or for parking.. As for rest it's bullXXXX.. I have sold few of those others in my eyes not great at all extensions for small profit, but never risked to go for solid keyword names, because some never sell at all..

If you know what you're doing you can still find hand registered .com's and sell them on for $xx - $x,xxx it's not true that 100% of them are taken and I am not just talking about brandables, there are reg fee keyword .com's out there too!

I see .xyz name as one of get rich fast schemes, just with a bit of publicity so many people are willing to go and spend crazy amount of money being convinced they sell most of them for big money! Reading such forum posts spur some on to go and spend even more money.. Chances are those .xyz sales you mentioned earlier are speculators who heard same info, they just have bigger budget than you guys to go and spend on them names..

Now one want to face the fact, unless you get incredibly lucky all premium .xyz that maybe will make some money, where gone before general public, new comers even heard about them..

People who been lurking around these forums for years and years are always few steps in front of new comers and don't just talk or trust to any shXX that comes out.. Do you truly believe, if those names were going to be worth as much as some expect here, they weren't all gone before you got anywhere close to them..

Remember good old saying, if it's looks to good to be true, it probably is!

I don't really like Gtlds domains in general, but I know that some spot on will make sense because they are like keywords (that's why they're selling), where as I said so many times .xyz doesn't mean or stand short for anything!

So a tld must stand for something? Tell us why then as I'd sure like to know cause I must be missing something. To a domainer probably but does tghge surfer really care?

If a person types the URL it's most likely there dot com they add to URL of course so I can see the com being VIP to have of course.

CentralNIC is the exclusive wholesaler for .xyz, by far the most popular of the new domains. It was created last year by 29-year-old Daniel Negari, ICANN's youngest registry operator.

Companies like CentralNIC sell these domains through retailers such as GoDaddy Inc and MarkMonitor, a company owned by Thomson Reuters Corp.

Google bought the rights to abc.xyz from MarkMonitor, which registered the address in March 2014.

CentralNIC will get a share of the annual subscription that Google will pay to keep the website. Crawford declined to say how much his company would make off abc.xyz.

Premium top level domains, such as sex.com and insurance.com, typically sell for hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars in privately negotiated deals.

For instance, we.com was bought by Tencent, China's largest Internet service portal, for $8 million earlier this month.

"I don't believe abc.xyz was anything like that amount, but in terms of how much a domain name can sell for, that's around the top of the range," 50-year old Crawford, still on holiday, told Reuters on Thursday.

"I guess that's the message that Google wanted to get across: that Alphabet is the Internet business of the future."

I am here for people who sign's up to forum and read somebody dreaming to make huge money from .xyz, which is very unlikely to happen. As I mentioned earlier I almost fell for same trick with .co and some other extensions, lucky in my case I didn't had big budget to blow..

Guy's like you don't listen, if I was hoping to convince you; I was out a hear while ago :D

I've had few friends and people I know coming to me and asking help selling crap names in past and reason they picked them up in first place, because somebody on forum started similar tread.. (yes, some of them are .xyz as well)

I'm not PRO by any chance, but I very rarely lose money on domains, so I am doing well!

Your posts show u r open to other TLDs but u seem to like to bait people by agreeing then disagreeing but whatever its your deal.

I just am interested in seeing what peoples thought process is on certain posts.

Big companies hide their buyouts all the time and MarkMonitor held the rights not Daniel Negari so that's only the price for the domain not the rights which are the crucial importance to the name

I just think that many people believe in what they been told, others learn to evaluate facts by them self's..

Many claim they recently registered Premium .xyz, you realize most of them where released in 2014 and some where held back and auctioned later on..

IMHO

that tells me two things

1) most of those .xyz which has been registered recently was held by somebody for year and they decided not to waist money on renewal fee's

2) No body seen those names as worth to register for more than a year..

Personally that doesn't tell me any of those names are premium. As far as I know people are fighting like sharks for real premium names, don't be fooled that it will come that easy!

Also I bet most of the .xyz being sold for half decant money now are ones that's were picked last year, or as a part of while ago released collision domains

Besides Verisign, Inc is just a one of thousand of registrars...

Nobody here said that numbers are maid up, I mentioned that .xyz domains been sold cheap for first year and then renewals are $10.. That's why .xyz is commonly used for scum attempts, they are cheap at the moment. My problem is that many newbies don't realize they can get .xyz for $1 and go and waste $10 maybe and only buy those names becouse somebody dream's that .xyz will bring them big money one day!
