I do sometimes buy domains in auction. What I don’t like about this auction is that they could adjust the time remaining in the auction.

Is this legal?

I know almost all auctions that I know of like eBay for instance whatever time remaining in that auction is final. If the time left is one minute you only have one minute to bid in that auction. However, auction place like TDNam they do adjust their time a little longer so they can get more offer in a given domain name.

Is it legal to manipulate the time in this auction so they get more offer?

auction sites can do what they want

i think what your talking about is if a bid is placed in the last 5 minutes there is a 5 minute extension to the auction, seems fair enough to avoid sniping

While remaining in compliance with any applicable law. Whether someone feels
they've broken a law or not is for them to prove.

The 5-10 minute extension is common at the majority of domain auction sites including Sedo, Afternic, Pool, Snapnames, and others.

There is nothing illegal and the rules are generally spelled out clearly in the company TOS (terms of service)

I've seen this happen on premium domains.

What did you mean by SNIPING

Placing a bid at the last second (common on ebay) to attempt to get the item for a lower price. If you had placed your bid sooner, you may have been outbid by the other interested party. Many people don't use proxy bids.
