I'm sure this must have been asked before but couldnt find the thread with searches.

I was just going to list a domain for auction at tdnam.
Just wondering what time is the best to end an auction?
The default value i get is 2-3pm MST. Is that the optimum time?

Thanks.
Kross.

I'd suggest a few hours later, evening. That's when more people will be checking on auctions, etc.

For Ebay general it is Sunday between 5 & 9pm. For specifically domains in might be different though.

I use 6-7 on tdnam, I think most domainers are at home by their computers then ;)

Hmm... i think people who want the name would bid good in the first place not exactly at the end.

I have done research and the time when most domainers are online is approx 11:00-11:45 ish Central Time! I think RJ can back this up.

on the contrary i think that most serious buyers wait till the end to bid.
They dont want to hike up the bids in the beginning to encourage more attention or rise in price.

In the end, they have lesser number of bidders to compete against and therefore lower final price comparatively.

Therefore it is really important to target the time suitable for most online bidders.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Would like more suggestions though :)

I think when most names are ending, also when the expired names ends at 11.

In general for domain names I find Sunday to be the worst day/night to sell domain names on ebay that is. Thanks

AM or PM ?

I've been setting auctions up to end at various times on eBay just to get a feel for the fine grained "market timing" ... No strong data yet - though so far I like the late evening hours - Europeans and Asians are awake then as well. I also try to see what else is out there a day ahead (I put a lot of my LLLL.com out on 24 auctions) and then either find a sparse spot to populate, or try to get behind a big "bulk lot" or likely high-value name - figuring that some bidders who didn't win their original target might be in a mood to pick up something else before the night is over. It's not an exact science though! And seems like would be even a bit harder to finesse on TDNAM ...

Isnt that way to close to lunch time for EST?

Sunday evenings are the best from what I have seen.
