Hi,

Has anyone had any experiences on the Snapname Auction yet? I just got off of an auction that went into overtime for two hours beyond the regular auction time. What was unreal was the fact that there was one other person bidding with me during those two additional hours. Each nine minute overtime would end with the other bidder increasing his bid by $10.00 and then later by $25.00. My point is that at the end of each over-time the other bidder had never exceeded my high bid.

I called Snapnames during the auction and asked them how many time do I have to win this auction? He really couldn't give me an intelligent explaination. I asked him how do you extend the time in the auction over and over again when my high bid has not been exceeded? There was no excuse offered. I asked him if the other bidder had put a proxy bid in and he said NO.

Finally, after almost two hours of over-time the other bidder finally exceeded my high bid and I said the heck _ _ _ _with this and walked away. How could you want to participate in an auction like that?

I have never had an experience like this on Pool or Enom.

I would be interested in hearing if anyone else has had an auction experience like this.

Thanks for the vent time.....................................

Regards,

If I remember correctly, pool used to do the same thing when they first started. It was supposed to prevent bid sniping. I just saw it as another way for them to squeeze the maximum amount of cash out of each auction. If you get outbid, you bid again, other person gets outbid, they up their bid ad nauseum. I was never a big fan of the practice.

Hi,

I don't mind being out-bid...................................

The source of my anger is when you go almost two hours of over time and the other bidder never equals or exceeds your max bid......... and they allow the over time to continue. They just allowed this bidder to make $10.00 and ultimately $25.00 until he caught up to my max-bid. The fact that he placed each one of those bids every 9 minutes is the big question. Snapnames allowed him to do this until he exceeded my max bid. It took him almost two hours.

See Ya,
