What do you think? Do you think there is value in that? I suppose there is, but where is the limit?

BUYBUY.com fetched 11,500 USD this month.
BUYBUYBUY.com: 2,125 USD in 2015.
sexsex.org went for some $450

How about with hyphen?

All sorts of domains like home-home.com, beer-beer.com are taken. Even longer ones like ticketticket.com and flightflight.com.

This years nice sales:
freedom.com 2,000,000 USD
place.com 550,000 USD

How would you estimate freedomfreedom.com, placeplace.com? And place-place.com? Would you register if it was free?

I honestly don't get double repeating word domains at all. They don't make sense. Perhaps BuyBuy is the only one that sounds OK

Put yourself in the end-user's shoes; would you start a business with a double repeating word name?

I'm surprised that BUYBUY.com fetched 11,500 USD

Who would have seen that coming?

Nice domain there, but it won't fetch you much. Maybe low $$$

Double repeating word names can be hugely profitable depending on the niche, eg: BuyBuy - (ecom), placeplace (tourism sector), even sexsex (porno n sexuality) but I can't see names like wordword doing much. Who r the end-users? Webster/oxford dictionaries maybe..!!

I can see value where the double word has become a single word in common use, Examples are dumdum, pawpaw and jigjig, but unless that has happened, I can't see much value. One possible exception is where the second word has a suffix added to it, such as toptopper or fastfaster.

There is no value in repeating word domain names.

pingping.com is currently on auction at pheenix, already over $10k with two days left.
I think it means something in chinese. O_o

Resurrection time.

BabyBabyBaby.com sold for $6,288

This works since it's in many song lyrics.

I think verbs work well like RunRun or even RunRunRun.

Some others that I think have value in double or even triple repeating:
StopStop
JumpJump
WinWin
HitHit

etc.,

Thanks for the thread @tupungato as I had somehow missed noticing the sale.
I think the most valuable ones will be those that are in wide use as a repeated term. Google will show you how many results and it is high for terms like WinWin (89M) and RunRun (14M) or GoGo(204M since major companies have branded on it) etc. Something like CryptoCrypto even though a high value term by itself has fewer search results.

I would stick with high value short words, ideally already finding some double use.

Thanks again,

Bob
