"Hi again,
In order to complete the account change I will need additional info:

First name:
Last name
Address 1:
Country:
City:
State:
Postal code:
Phone:
For a referrence, please, check the account change process at your godaddy.com Domain manager!

Thank you!!!

That is the e-mail I received today in regard of transferring a domain name to my account. Person is asking for whole lot of information for a GoDaddy transfer; I don’t feel comfortable giving that away. As far as I know, person only needs e-mail associated with the account and account ID or username.
I requested my money back!
Your thoughts?

That's how GoDaddy requests information (more than just your email address) in order to proceed with the "free push", IMHO ... I think it's an unnecessary and antiquated system myself, and why I exclusively use my #1 Enom Reseller™ account! :gl:

Best of Luck.

You can give him false information and it will work.
You will then need to update the details once you get the domain.

Except for the email address, of course ... I would advise providing all the correct infomation requested for the proper transfer, however. :gl: :imho:

Last time I checked; all you need is ID/User Name and eMail; and gave that away many times and I did got my domain transferred to my GoDaddy account. I don’t understand why would anyone need my name, address, etc.

At one time Godaddy did require user details. However, you are correct, in that all they need is your Username or ID# and email. Many folks get in a hurry, however, submit the username and email and then get asked for the other details because they didn't look at Godaddy's "default" on that page. Look at this image, then read below: https://img.mydomains.net/domaintransfer.gif

Many submit it without realizing they actually told it (default..stupid Godaddy) to then give them a page to enter new user details. If they select the second option, then it would auto-put your details without them ever seeing them. The third option, transfers to you too, but leaves their details in place (except email).

So, just tell him to select "Use details from specified customer account"
