Thinking about signing up for GoDaddy WWD Reseller account. Anyone have one?

I am debating whether or not to register for a Godaddy reseller account. I like the fact you do not need to preload your account with funds as the transactions are handled right thru Godaddy.

My question is, what made you register for a WWD account if you can simply use coupons to receive the lower pricing?

Are there any benefits to having a Godaddy reseller account?

If a domain is set to expire under a WWD reseller account, does the reseller have the chance to renew it and keep it from dropping?

I am curious on your thoughts. It has been something I have considered for a while now.

I got one and have been running it on Supur.com for over 5 years (despite the header saying over 4 years...too lazy to change it :P). Back when I first had gotten it, I wasn't aware of GoDaddy's coupon codes making things consistently cheaper than at the WWD reseller, plus back then it may not have been true for EVERYTHING. What had mainly gotten me to do it was that .cc's were like $5 cheaper using WWD reseller and I liked the extension back then. Not so now but now I know what I'm doing, lol.

What ended up happening was that I got customers either through making sales of the names or people managing to find the site, and I still have some of those customers, so I'm more or less renewing it because I make a slight bit of profit on it each year. As for my own domains, I don't register anything there anymore. GD is simply cheaper with coupons.

You do not get any chance to renew your customers' domains or anything like that. It's your own GoDaddy but it's still GoDaddy behind the curtains. All WWD domains end up in GoDaddy Expiring Domain auctions and closeouts just like GD-registered domains.

Are you going to be an active reseller, or do you simply want the cheapest registrations for your own registrations. If the latter, then signing up for the DDC might be a better way to go. I used to have an arrangement with my Account Manager on prices, but he recommended I sign up for the DDC instead. He calculated it would save me money. That way, you know you are getting the cheapest prices and don't have to worry about always having to find coupons for everything. There used to be a coupon code for signing up with the DDC also. So look around for one.

I am looking for the cheapest registrations and/or renewals for my own registrations with the intent to start reselling products to all the clients I currently have. Right now I simply direct them to Godaddy to sign up for what that need. I would rather direct them to my Reseller Account's website and have them sign up there.

Right now, my thinking is, why should I have $200 or $300 a year for a reseller account, when the pricing I am going to receive is higher than I can get with a coupon code that is always available. There has not been a year where I have not found a coupon in the thread here at Namepros to use to renew my domains I currently have at GD.

I see DDC is an option if I do not want to resell domains.

I guess I can find an account rep and ask them some questions to see what would be best.

you can get a WWD reseller account for less than $100.

if you get enough customers, the plan can be upgraded, allowing lower prices.
