Did I say that? No, I did not.
For one thing, The rest of the democratic party is NOT enchanted with
“The squad”
Do you pay taxes? Do you have auto insurance? Health insurance?
You’re paying to maintain roads you never drive on, for schools you kids don’t attend, for first responder services you may not need. Your premiums cover payments for other peoples’ accidents and illnesses, and theirs cover yours.
Isnt that “socialism?”
Genuine hard core socialism would be confiscating all your assets - land possessions, etc - and distributing them among the workers.
People (wolves in sheep’s clothing) have been putting that “socialism” label on the entire Democratic Party because they know it will get an extreme emotional negative reaction out of certain people. Like you.
Democrat Myth-busting on some “socialist”:issues:
All the Democrats I know - real everyday working people - WANT to preserve our current form of government. WANT to protect our constitution as it is now. Both were designed to work pretty well by our founders.
Most of them also want to fix the health care travesty in this country. It’s sorely needed - the insane healthcare costs in this country are responsible for part of the homeless problem we spoke about the other day. A lot of working families are one serious illness away from bankruptcy and losing their home. Im not talking about “immigrants” or “welfare” people. I’m talking about folks who work to provide the goods and services we all use. We can do better.
All Dems I personally know are pro 2nd amendment. Guess what? Nobody wants to take your guns! I know quite a few who are gun owners themselves - they hunt, they go to the range.... They just want to have better regulation In place to try to make it harder for the crazies to do what they do.. . It won’t stop all of them, but if it stops one that’s lives saved. (I personally think you should have a few extra hoops to jump through to buy an assault weapon as opposed to let’s say a hunting rifle, but I have no problem with someone owning one in principle.)
Dems I know are split on free college. I personally think there should be free tuitition at state run / community colleges through asssociates or bachelors, nautical restricted to those who can demonstrate need and a likelihood of success. Good student, clean record. If you can’t meet the requirements, you pay.
And for those who pay, at least restore the tax breaks for paying off student loans. I worked through college to pay part of my tuition (family and scholarships covered the rest) - I couldn’t do that at today’s tuition rates.
The problem is this, when I see Cortez-Democrat-Socialist. , then I am completely out, She isn’t saying she has a “Few” socialist ideals, she is saying “Socialist” and the Democrats appear to literally love her

I could go on and on about the Socialist stuff, In a nut shell, Cortez-Democrat-Socialist , I wont chance voting for any Democrat , That would be risking my Democracy and i would never do that. Although people say Cortez is just a senator representing New York, it doesn't matter, every Democrat i have talked to likes her, a few even go as far to say they just love her. She is very condoned by the party itself and that is enough for me to not ever vote for another Democrat again. I simply wont risk my Democracy for it.
Back in the 1980's and 1990's I voted for many Democrats, I voted for Ann Richards Democrat for Governor of Texas, she won and did a pretty good job as our Governor.
I voted a split ticket through the 80's and 90's
Things have changed and much has been revealed concerning both parties, not just the Democratic party, I don't particularly like our current Governor (R) Greg Abbott, I don't like (R)Ted Cruz - Texas either. but by "Socialist" default i will now vote a straight Republican ticket to not take any chance of having a Socialist ran government, that is just how strongly i love my country for what it was founded on.
Free Tuition - No, my taxes are high enough and you earn what you get in the US
I am not only pro 2nd amendment, I am pro the entire constitution, Although i may shun on a few things with it, my fore fathers wrote it for my own protection and our constitution works, It works for everyone in the country. Texas is one of the most lenient in the union on gun laws, there is no wild west here though, good citizens get a license to carry permit and carry their firearm responsibly, Google how many bad guys have gotten shot while committing armed robbery and violent crimes in Texas by a LTC holder, unfortunately a bad guy decides he is going to come into a store and rob it while waving a firearm around, a Texas LTC holder is in the store, and it ends. It works for us here.
Free Healthcare - It is not good in so many ways. Doctors don't just become doctors because they only want to help people, they want the freedom to establish their own practice and have earned the right to by spending almost 10 years in school. The same with our RN nurses and ect.
I would agree with you pertaining to a more strict process when purchasing assault rifles and such. If there is nothing to keep a person from legally owning any firearm, they wouldn't have a problem with a more stringent check process.
