Progressive leadership has reduced the nicest city on the west coast to a literal sh*t-hole in less 30 years.

I dunno. I lived there 30 years ago, and it had its sh*thole aspects even then. The city has always had a bunch of loonies running the place, though they were usually kept in line by whoever the mayor was and by the various businessmen/crooks making money there. (Willie Brown covered both worlds.) As much corruption as anywhere, aggressive panhandlers, etc. Market Street and the whole area where conventions are held have never been great neighborhoods.

It's a great city, and has survived in partly in spite of the loons on the left running in. That said, some right wing moralist wouldn't have helped the city either. It needs to preserve its "liberal" identity. Offshoots of that are naturally drug addicts, panhandlers and crime. But good times, too.

I visited in the 80's and again in the late 90's. Wasn't bad, pretty much lived up to it's reputation. The article describes the filth and smell from mission district. Crime is a huge problem.

Just some basic decency and enforcement of public health and safety laws would probably help.

Iโ€™m sure one of you will find something mean spirited to say because sheโ€™s a democrat, but maybe we can all agree thatโ€™s a cute outfit for the little oneโ€™s senate debut?
Mom is technically on maternity leave, but you canโ€™t vote unless youโ€™re on the senate floor so sheโ€™s going in. 10 days after giving birth. Whether you agree with her or not, this is someone who takes her responsibilities to her constituents seriously.

Being an obstructionist is definitely a full-time job! (a mean spirited joke perhaps?)

Whether you agree with her or not, this is someone who takes her responsibilities to her constituents seriously.

I can appreciate her dedication to her job though, as I'm sure her constituents do as well. What upcoming vote is so important that she needs to break away from her maternity leave and drag her 10 old baby to the Senate floor? The Pompeo Confirmation vote perhaps? Wonder which way she'll vote?

Most pediatricians don't recommend taking a baby out to crowded places until their immune system has a little more time to develop! (6-8 weeks) so not so sure about the wisdom of this, although I'm pretty sure I know the reason why she's doing this, other than probably wants to show the new baby off to her fellow Senators! Love the baby outfit too! Who knows? Maybe she'll vote for Pompeo? :xf.wink:

BREAKING: DOJ Set To Release Comey's Memos, Could Lead To End Of Mueller's Investigation, Top Democrat Says
https://www.dailywire.com/news/29648/breaking-justice-department-set-release-comeys-ryan-saavedra

The top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), said that releasing Comey's memos puts Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in serious jeopardy of being "being placed in contempt of Congress and the special counsel investigation of being shut down," the Washington Examiner reported.

I'm guessing Muller saw this coming, hence the attempted backdoor at Trump's attorney.

Clinton and Kerry voted in for Sec of State no problem, overwhelming support and no obstruction from Republicans.

Under Pres Trump, as with just about everything being partisan...

Tillerson voted support split partisan, now Pompeo with plenty of qualifications Dems partisan, except one Dem from ND. Military, West Point Grad, He has owned private businesses, short career in Govt, not your traditional swamp dweller.

Tillerson voted support split partisan

Tillerson received the most "no vote" opposition to a Secretary of State nominee ever in 50 years.

Also a grad of Harvard Law School! He is a stellar candidate for Secretary of State. Need Jake Flake (R) Arizona and hopefully Rand Paul (R) Kentucky to vote yes, but they may not. Heidi Heitkamp (D) South Dakota has said she is voting Yes, like she also did for Tillerson. Democrats ought to be ashamed of their level of obstructionism!

Today's Sign That America Has Lost Its Mind!

Social Justice Warrior's are attacking Day's of Our Lives because of a recent story line!
Hello people! It's a soap opera! It's fiction! It shouldn't be attacked because it hurts your feelings! Just don't watch it, if you don't like it! You have that choice! There is no need to protest the network, the writers, actors or show. Just turn it off! My goodness!! I have never seen such nonsense every single day now!

This is how stupidly duplicitous the democratic party has become in the U.S. today:

Seven and a half months after being nominated to lead NASA, Jim Bridenstine finally gets to start his new job. His confirmation following a vote in the Senate ends the longest span of time that NASA has operated without a permanent leader, and comes with a vivid reminder that few posts in Washington are now spared from partisan conflict.

On Thursday, the Senate confirmed Mr. Bridenstine, an Oklahoma congressman, as the new NASA administrator in a stark partisan vote: 50 Republicans voting for him and 47 Democrats plus two independents against. The vote lasted more than 45 minutes as Republicans waited for Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona to cast his lot. The vote was also punctuated by the appearance of Senator Tammy Duckworth, Democrat of Illinois, who cast her โ€˜noโ€™ vote on the Senate floor with her newborn daughter in hand.

Then in the next paragraph this:

Many who voted against him expressed concerns about his record of partisanship as well as some statements questioning climate change, an area of research in which the space agency plays a central role.

I guess Senator Duckworth's decision to bring her 10 day old baby to work in a room with 100 other people was all for naught?
