They collect sales tax in all 45 states that have a sales tax for things they sell directly.

Federal income taxes is what he mentioned.

I made the mistake of posting my opinion with the link, all I posted was a great interview about all big tech, and from a business perspective and the impacts they all will have in the future. Apple, Facebook, Amazon, Prime, Alexa, Google, Whole Foods, instagram, Netflix/twitter at end.... Nothing to do with Trump.

Please, take a listen and you might have input as to future in tech. Voice, domaining, all sorts of things that effect the US. And I live where itโ€™s like the 60โ€™s still. I will be dead by any of these Amazon effects where I choose to rrside.
I found it educational in some ideas and opinions, nothing to do with the presidentโ€™s mention of Amazon today, just coincidental I listened today. It ends with prediction of Amazon into banking. Really interesting.

I know you hate The Donald, you complain about him everyday.

Listen to the podcast on bloomberg, then tell me what this guy is saying isnโ€™t true. It is really good interview about new media, old media, retail, future of the world, etc.

You didn't read the article:

"Deputy press secretary Lindsay Walters confirmed Thursday that Trump was referring to third-party sellers on Amazon's site when he criticized the company over taxes."

Then, of all the people to complain about somebody not paying taxes.

I know you hate The Donald, you complain about him everyday.

What part of my post do you specifically disagree with?

US Postal system losses money every year now.

2006 was the peak of "bought something on ebay send it to me USPS" They thought that volume would never end so they spent the money

They phased out direct subtitles in the 1980's but there still indirect

Also the year, Republicans:

"Before Congress passed the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006, the USPS operated under a pay-as-you-go model for retiree health care funding. The new law requires the Postal Service to pre-fund its benefit obligations."

I'm saying this once and not answering any stupid "but but but" replies:
These kids have been through something I hope none of us have or ever will go through. They're hurt. They're truamatized. They're angry because they don't think anyone is doing anything except sending "thoughts and prayers." They're on the verge of adulthood, but they're teens. But they are exercising their rights and trying to make a difference. And apparently a sh*t ton of people agree with them.

For the supposed adults who disagree with their viewpoints to 1) attack them viciously as they have on social media and 2) not realize that they're speaking out from a lot of hurt and frustration (which can make even level headed mature adults say things they later might regret) and take what they say in the spirit of where its coming from, is inexcusable. Listen or not. Easy.

Be the f***ing adult in the room.

Meanwhile you have a sitting president who lies, slanders bullies and mocks the handicapped but that's perfectly A-OK

It's not that simple. Hogg is attacking peoples livelihood for personal reasons. Being young isn't an excuse. Lot's of kids from the same school aren't been giant, hateful jerks.

No kid should have to experience this.
No adult should be giving them crap for wanting to stop it.
Calling them names and bullying them for trying to bring change is inexcusable and beyond disgusting.

You didn't read the article:

No I didn't, and I didn't post a rebuttal to the "Trump says:" anything you or anyone previously posted here in the past few days. I just added what I thought was an new interesting podcast and "HE" was Galloway in the interview, NOT the President.

I attempted to post something I thought might be of value to listen to for you and anyone else at your leisure instead I get all this "I told you so", and links to more news analysis and proof of this or that on taxes, it's the big picture of the future economy.

This podcast, is about technology and how it will effect you and anyone who relies on technology and these monopolistic companies to make a living. Simple, listen and it's not intended politically and well framed by the guy who is interviewed, just observations, opinions and questions raised from a financial perspective on a very important topic- the future economy.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/audi...way-discusses-four-world-conquering-companies

And if you do listen, maybe you might write something about it. If not, hey I just posted it to share and nobody cared, so that's that.

Specifically to address the above Trump statements:

https://newrepublic.com/article/147249/amazon-big-tax

A year ago, Scott Galloway ran the numbers and was troubled by what he found:

The most disturbing stat in business? Since 2008 Walmart has paid $64 billion in corporate income tax, while Amazon has paid $1.4 billion. This is despite the fact that, in the last 24 months, Amazon has added the value of Walmart to its market cap. The most uncomfortable question in business, in my view, is how do we pay our soldiers, firefighters, and teachers if a firm can ascend to $460 billion in value (#5 in the world) without paying any meaningful corporate taxes.

Doesnโ€™t paying fewer taxes just show that theyโ€™re โ€œsmart?โ€ What business doesnโ€™t try to pay the least tax they can?
Difference may have something to do with Walmartโ€™s brick and mortar footprint? There are a lot of differences in the two businesses.
If we want corporations to pay more tax, why did we just implement a tax bill that does just the opposite?
Amazon is expected to add tens of thousands of jobs this year - 50000 alone when they open their planned second hq. Arenโ€™t those tax savings trickling down and stimulating the economy?

45 hates Bezos because WaPo criticizes him. His attacks on Amazon are personal,

Q: how do we know if they aren't paying enough tax ?
A: they released their tax records.

Great thread by Kyle Kashuv worth reading. Covers media using him and others, David Hogg's personal attacks and contradictions.

Interesting.
And yet we have a sitting president who sets an example of attacking people's livelihoods and businesses for personal reasons.
Being old isn't an excuse either.

What's your point? Hogg get's a pass b/c President Trump's an jerk? No-one is saying you can't respond in kind to the President b/c of feelings.

Kyle Kashov made a reasoned response to both the media and Hogg and a WaPo reporter made a baseless personal attack withing minutes.

Kyle's points are clear and correct, the media are using victims to advance a political agenda and Hogg is a hypocrite.

Earlier in the thread we had a misuse of the terms "ranting" and "triggered". This is what triggered looks like. I count around 15 posts on this, 3/4 on this page alone. It's clear he's gotten under the NRA's skin and it's supporters.

This podcast, is about technology and how it will effect you and anyone who relies on technology and these monopolistic companies to make a living.

I gave it 20 minutes, didn't really hear anything new. Amazon - Selection, Convenience, Value, offer a better value to the consumer. Exactly. I don't see the problem. Amazon is great, I'm a big fan. I've always been more of a stop complaining, start competing type of mindset. It's like when a team starts to run up the score and the other team complains. Don't complain, play some Defense. I understand more tech, robots, less cashiers etc. Then you adapt. I think it was you that mentioned this earlier, something about Amazon competing with the same merchants on their site, if so, I see that as well. Just last 6 months on things I've been researching or actually bought. New luggage, Amazon has Amazon basic luggage. Bought a new office chair, Amazon has their own branded office chairs. Even of all things, foam rollers, they have those. However, I still bought the Lay-Z-Boy office chair, still bought the Rumble Roller foam roller, if I buy luggage, I'm going to go with TravelPro or Samsonite. So Amazon provides options for people that want to save a little money, and those other merchants can still get sales. Google was mentioned, birthed out of search. They had some earlier competitors that were just as good, some even felt better, Teoma, AllTheWeb but it was too late, Google was already ingrained.

This just popped up on Netflix - Trump - An American Dream

So you know I'll be checking that out.

Support small business. Small business wants to get big. They get big. Now they are evil?

Smart guy, American success story. 1997 interview, over 20 years ago.

You'd think someone so easily triggered would know how the word is used but apparently not.

Getting over your Stormy D obsession?

Earlier in the thread we had a misuse of the terms "ranting" and "triggered". This is what triggered looks like.
